He's a ****er! Just seen on sky sports news that he said "his new club are on a different level to his old clubs". Him and his representatives deserve each other

In most ways I have to agree.
Fans wise though, no. They have lower crowds and those who do attend are more and more leaning towards being plakka.
Heres a case in point... And old school friend used to hate football for years... He moved down south 10 years ago and all of a sudden he is a hardcore Chelsea season ticket holder..... Who hasn't a ****ing clue who Bonetti, Harris and Osgood are... Nor has he ever seen them away as it's too much hassle.

Maybe Newcastle couldn't have done anything to stop him going, but it just amazes me how most people don't appear to be that bothered about it, despite the fact he has scored almost 50% of his team's goals. This departure has made Newcastle strong relegation candidates and I can't see him being replaced by anyone of similar quality.

Were they on a different level before abromovich came in though ? Yes a lower level ! Maybe that's an argument for another day

What is the general opinion on him now?

His interview wasn't exactly kind on yourselves.

"Big club" bollocks, and "an easy decision".

Bored of hearing these ****s.

I'm happy he got his move he deserved it he's always played well and hardly had a bad game for us. But would it have killed him too just say kind about us as a club ? Or fans ? I dunno maybe it's just me

I don't think its that, its just there is nothing you can do. I can't see how anyone could quibble with a player doubling his wages, banking 2.5m from the transfer and moving to the European champions in the process. He will more than likely play CL every year. Its just a no brainer and part and parcel of football, no point in getting bothered about the inevitable. Hopefully he'll be replaced though.

Problem is though that doesn't really come into the equation for players anymore when thinking about a transfer. Its about money first, what competitions they play in, their current standing in the game, and then of course....................money again! <laugh>
