Starts 09:30 Saturday UK Time:

Sprint Qualifying 1--------------------All 20 drivers, bottom 5 eliminated------------------12 minutes-----------Medium Tyres
Sprint Qualifying 2--------------------Remaining 15 drivers, bottom 5 eliminated-------10 minutes-----------Medium Tyres
Sprint Qualifying 3--------------------Remaining 10 drivers-----------------------------------8 minutes------------Soft Tyres

I`m thinking positive, this may be the turning point for Ferrari because Fred has started to get it together with the team.

I have read that they were able to finally run the car lower to the ground this weekend which is enabling their concept to work better. What I’m not sure of is whether it is track surface related (some chatter about Baku relaying some of the surface), or whether Ferrari have made some setup changes that allow the lower ride without any of the violent bottoming out consequences.

If it is the latter, then that’s an enormous step forward.

 

There seems to be talk that Yuki, Lando and maybe Carlos don't have any New soft tyres and therefore can't compete in the Sprint Quali 3 session!

 

I think that rule is mental. They should get an extra set of softs if they get to Q3.

Meanwhile, Chaz still driving on a shorter track than the rest of them, it seems.

 

Do we now have a separate qualifying for the main race as well as a separate qualifying for the sprint race?

 

Friday is 1 practice, then race quali, Saturday is Sprint day. Sunday race day.
I quite like the separate sprint quali and race quali but I'm not keen on Race quali on a Friday.

 

If they want to continue to pursue this sprint bollocks, at least male the sprint qualifying one 15 minutes session or a reverse grid of race qualy.

Honestly, this is all just horse crap.

Max complaining about George keeping his place saying he damaged his car

 

Why send him back out? He has no chance of points so why not save the PU components life? Plus if he's in the pits he can't crash again!

 

Trouble is Max is always going to complain. Petulant unless willing. I’m not saying he doesn’t have a case, only that he would moan about it anyway.

 

It was worth it for the image of Yuki crabbing round the course sideways. But not for anything else.

 

How did they allow Yuki to rejoin when his right rear tyre is at a 110 angle!

 

“Oh well done Max, and you got past with no contact too”. Easy to pass cleanly when you can do it with a huge speed advantage. Yuki and DRS have ruined this race.

I’ve switched it off and gone to watch the snooker. There’s something about the sprint races I just don’t find appealing

 

Boring and kinda spoils the grand prix to already know the race pace. Other than for Max who i assume is being affected by the floor damage

Williams couldn't fix the car after sprint quali crash.
