I love it when people say "the whole world knows this..." or " the only ones who see it like this are you.." etc, etc. Nobody knows anything other than what the media choose to tell them. It's sad that even with the deceit and hypocrisy that we've long suspected them of now being spread-eagled for the world to see, they still get plenty of takers for their drivel. When it suits, of course. FSG were so tight -lipped about this that even many of our own, used to contemporary media bombardment, were getting anxious about their intent. The rags had nothing to go on, the only one who would say anything to them was DW. Whether the words were really his, who knows? Even if they were they can be taken out of context and made to say almost anything. We can only guess at his agenda but whatever it was he doesn't appear to have come out of it too well, in terms of his image. However, he's kept his man- for the time being- and we've got the one we apparently wanted from the beginning, so no harm done. Apart from the Jacks, of course. Commiserations to them.
There is a very BIG difference between what Rodgers may or may not have said to HTV and you calling Ian Are a liar.
I would say both Ayre and rodgers are liars, but we down here know for sure that rodgers is full of ****, something you lot will undoubtedly find out as time moves on.
I think we all know Martinez was spoken to and terms couldn't be agreed but, IMO, Rodgers was first choice originally until he refused to speak to Liverpool, three times!. Maybe Rodgers was first choice from the beginner and it took the Martinez knock back to force Liverpool to try Rodgers again? Personally, I don't see the big problem if Rodgers was second choice. In short, I don't really give a ****

^^ This I appreciate what MFG says about not slinging insults, but it was not that bad, more a gentle dig, that in printed form, can be toned a bit darker. But I do feel that Whelan should be called to account for the freakshow, rather than sideshow he masterminded.
