Martinez would not say anything he is very professional like that, very interesting to note that rodgers only agreed to speak to liverpool once martinez had decided to stay with Wigan dont you think. personally i am not that bothered rodgers has gone, he was just part of a project that has been going on for 5 years, our style of play was already there before he arrived, so do not beleive he was totally responsible for us reaching the premiership he was not.

Rodgers is on record as saying that he did not turn is down, he just didn't want to be included in a beauty contest. When he was assured that we wanted to talk seriously to him, he grabbed the opportunity with both hands (with the approval of Swansea's Chairman). Liverpool have openly declared that they talked to and considered a number of people before talking to Rodgers. So far our versions tally. However, talking to people and offering a contract are two completely different things. If Liverpool say that they did not offer the job to anybodyelse then I do believe them. There is no mileage in them making such a statement if it were not true. You can believe Ayre is a liar - I can do nothing about that. The ONLY person who has said that Liverpool made an offer to anyone other than Rodgers is Whelan. Now Whelan had his own agenda to pursue but his contention has not been substantiated by anyone - least of all Matinez. Personally, I would not be prepared to say the Henry or Ayre was a liar without such substantiation. So forgive me for sticking to my earlier comments regarding your original post.

So martinez was first choice but when he said no DoF we said **** off then? And yet when BR said the same we said ok the jobs yours??
