Ayala - maybe not.

We tried to get a creative central midfielder and failed. I'm sure NP will still want one.

I agree we are short up front at the moment, however, that implies Adebola and McLean aren't good enough (which is true) and I doubt NP will be able to use that as a reason to go cap in hand to Pappa Allam, unless someone goes out (see above)!

I'm not disagreeing with you for disagreements sake, but I think they'll shelve the creative midfielder, and play with two wingers and two overlapping full backs. I suspect this was the reason Dudgeon and Brady were brought in, Daws no longer has the legs to get up and down supporting the winger. McClean is ok, Adebola was the gaff IMHO. McClean has the fitness to get around the pitch, and would make a great impact player from 70mins onwards, the last thing you'd want to face after 70mins is an attacker that is going to run you all over the pitch.

I still get the feeling it could be someone like Waghorn, Nige has signed him before, clearly rates him, and he won't be getting much of a look in a Leicester, certainly not with the raft of strikers they've signed, and are currently linked with!

Speaking of new players, last year NP brought in several loan players who probably cost hardly anything. So after the window is shut there is still a chance we could bring in a loan player or two who could really add to the squad. Remember Gerrard, Ayala and Stewart last season.

Shame if we did miss out on him, not a lot you can do though sometimes when PL clubs come sniffing. Hopefully there's other irons in the fire.

would like to hope he'd sign for us of course but wouldn't blame him for wanting to play in the prem.

not just that John, but we only went in for him once macca was injured. doesnt really tell the player we really want him does it.
