Shame that isn't full time .... I've been a Posh supporter long enough to know it can all go pear-shaped second half
On the wrong end of a 4-1 drubbing. Cue the usual flannel from Gobbo about having to learn important lessons from this game etc. etc.
Utterly shambolic. That “defence” - Solly, Pearce, Konsa, Sarr- should never play again. Peterborough walked through us at will. Third goal particularly pathetic - Reeves gave the ball away, Solly ripped to pieces. The penny is never going to drop with the fat clown that his 4-2-3-1 obsession is doomed to failure. We simply don’t have the players 883 Charlton fans here today, those that stayed including me let them have it at full time. Robinson Out.
Let's face it, our promotion hopes are finished after this. the team may well win three or four more games this season, but even 'cannon fodder' like Fleetwood and Northampton are going to fight for every point they can get. How hard are Charlton going to fight? We might make it to 66 or 67 points this season, which SR and the apologists will doubtless hail as a giant stride in the right direction. But in reality it will be only two wins better than Charlton's worst 3rd tier season in living memory. By then even the last play-off place will probably be ten points beyond us.
Robinson won't get the sack. Who would sack him? We could have a few more of this type of result before too long.
Magennis was jeered off (loudly) by our fans when subbed today. Sad to see, but he really is a pale shadow of the striker he once was. His first touch is awful, he missed an absolute sitter of a header, and his penalty nearly ended up in the Fenlands.
No Takeover, No Promotion, No Chief Executive or Chief Finance Officer. We have got Robinson and Murray though. It really is ****ty being a Charlton fan sometimes.
The official website points out that Charlton can regain 6th place if we beat Blackpool away on Tuesday evening. It's not quite as simple as that. In order for Charlton to re-take 6th place on Tuesday the following needs to happen; We beat Blackpool by a two goal margin. Bury win at home against Peterborough. The last time Charlton won a league game by two goals was against Walsall at the Valley on 20th January (3-1). The last time Charlton won away in the league by two goals was against Fleetwood Town on 30th September. That was 9 away games ago. To their credit, Bury have won 2 of their last 3 home games, but these were against Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon. They might find high-scoring Peterborough United a more challenging opponent. We certainly did.
