While I agree with you broadly about planning for next season, I can't see how we can until we know who is in charge and whether their plans are for 'blow the league out of the water' with funds to match, or 'break even' in which case Fraser should be on his way as he is earning 5 grand a week, and we can start scouting the halt, the sick and the lame (again).
We look a lot better than satyrday. And ispwich, who are apparently (according to some) a top six championship squad, are losing at home to Port Vale.
LIvened up a bit last 10 minutes, could be a goal or two second half. A bit of magic from JR-S could swing it for us.
One day, books will be written about our epic battle with Shrewsbury for 10th spot. Free copies of 'Addicks to Victory' for the opening week of sales.
Must say we played pretty well second half, and could have scored more. Curbs was full of praise for Payne, he'd play him as a no. 10 on Saturday. I thought Morgan and Dobbo were exceptional, and the defence is more solid without Innis.
The only dissappointment for me was Fraser, who looked slow and clumsy - a few promising attacks broke down on a heavy touch from the guy or a pass played behind a running man. Payne had a great game. It just makes you wonder who to keep and let go. Most of these players are capable of a really good game - even Inniss looks a lot better now he isn't asked to be anything more than an old fashioned centre back. But every step forward brings another one back. Next game it may be Sess who turns in a blinder, or Fraser and we are all moaning about Albie or Payne's woefull passing.
