Need to focus 100% on those next four league games before we face City at the expense of all else. Yes, even the LC semi 2nd leg - I'd still rest players for that if we need to. You were right at the beginning of Jan that if we were to have won all our league games this month it would effectively all be over, and with another 4 points now we'd be 10 points ahead with a game in hand and it would all be over. But if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle and all that. Nonetheless, IF we can win our next 4 league games now we can still be pretty much in the same situation IMO and be able to focus on just mopping the title up and putting out our strongest sides in midweek come March when the CL knockout begins. We won't actually win the Prem until mid-April at the earliest - and we won't definitely win it all in January anyway - but we can effectively put it to bed by mid-Feb if we fully focus everything on the Prem. It’s an odd one as you could actually get an easier team finishing 8th if the team in 24th beats team in 9h in play offs…. But also way the league is, it’s always a bit of a lottery as teams like city madrid psg down in 20s atm so may end up getting unlucky with one of them if they have **** final couple games. Think importance is just get top 8 and then take who you get in next round without need for play off game. Saves 2 games and if you’re going to win CL, have to beat tough teams anyway.

Next logical step is to remove last 16 round and have some form of play off from 5 to 12 to have the right to play the top 4. Etc etc.
