Is it me or have the club done more after one friendly game to stop trouble reoccuring than a certain other club have after two pitch invasions and players being attacked in a premier league fixture?

There is nothing to defend, what I did was wrong and there is no changing that but I just like to let people know that I'm not one of these junked up idiots who run about looking for trouble.

It could've been funny, and I feel like a right ****ing broken record, but I can't look back and laugh on an incident that saw at least one injury and a scumbag fighting a woman right in front of my eyes.

I had "If Sammy scores, we'll stay off the pitch" after the A Team bit in my sig for a couple of days, thought it went well with the Sammy avatar too! Got bored of it easily though <laugh> I already wanna change my avatar. and entire signature. and name. But I never know what to!

I was there and I was complaining about people going on the pitch - then again I wasn't singing 'Is Sammy Scores..." in the same way I avoid other 'classics' like "Shoes off..." that are generally reserved for bairns at pre-season and cup matches. After the pro-Raul Moat chants at Carlisle last year, I didn't think the stupid kids (and some adults) that only go to pre-season could get any worse. I was wrong.

Due to Ashley's failings and the press' dislike of us, the unarguable positive NUFC have is our away support is quality, particularly when our home support is so weak at present, and scenes like this, at a friendly only give the media more ammunition against us. Those who ran on the pitch publicly tarnished the reputation of rational away supporters.
Judging by the impeccable way our loyal core of away supporters behave, even in the face of our players getting assaulted at SoL and 'cheeky' banners at Villa park, compared to the way a number of buffoons act on at pre-season friendlies I can't see any problem in the club's sanctions, particularly when Leeds are going to be goading us, and I'd imagine we're on very thin ice with the FA.

Personally I think its a bit of a pisstake forcing fans to pay an extra 25 quid a year to get tickets, but I'm not too bothered personally because I was going to get one anyway.

And I must admit I was one of the people who ran on the pitch, went on for I'd say no longer than 30 seconds, collected my mates and we went off, It was indeed a laugh at the time and I'm not worried about being singled out and banned etc... but I probably wouldn't do anything of the sort again simply because of the way it turned out. At the end of the day if people stayed in their seats like they were supposed to none of this would of led to any of the idiots fighting.

Gotta say, the main good thing I've took out of it is knowing I'll know better not to do it again whether it's an FA cup final or a pre season friendly.
Learn from your mistakes is what they say, I think the pure speculation of bans is enough punishment as it is for some people.

The difference being that it was just a couple of Sunderland fans who went on the pitch who were easily identified and easily dealt with. The fact that in this case it was many hundreds of fans who have went on the pitch puts this into a different league completely, and I suspect that there will be a lot of your fans with squeaky bums at the minute dreading a knock on the door from the local constabulary.

This means my mates are gunna be ringing me for away tickets now, much more than they did last year. I think the whole situation has been blew out of proportion, every away game I went to last season (and the season before) I can't recall our fans causing trouble. The club should be able to see that this incident was a one off and and ban the worst offenders instead of making other fans suffer.

Wouldn't worry yourself about a ban mate, they will just be going after the worst offenders such as the ones harassing the players and getting into fights. I doubt they have the time or the resources to track down every single fan who went on the pitch, I dont even see how they will put names to faces either tbh.

Aye. The club will expect a massive rise in member numbers, so when ST sale has finished and it goes to members, that will now also be done on a loyalty point basis. Seems fair.

Think it was done first come first serve, before general sale. Don't think any points were involved.
