Has anyone here traveled on a long journey with the official coaches? I've only ever done London games with the official travel before. Do the coaches have wi-fi and stuff? Any other entertainment provided?
I'm blessed with being in a position to use the train for aways so the coach is usually an absolute last resort. I have mates who did a few trips with Saints Away Travel last season and seemed to enjoy themselves. They offer wifi and free food/drink and usually get to the destination about 1 1/2 hours before kick-off so time for a pint if so inclined. Loads of pick-up points as well. (I'm not on commission by the way, just what I've heard and don't hold me to any of it!!!). Website is http://www. southamptonawaytravel.co.uk My experience is that the official coaches are more regimented in their approach (I'm being polite!) and more of a school trip approach. Hope this helps.
I went with Southampton away travel (Juniper mentioned them, not the official coaches) to Liverpool semi final, pretty good although it took f***ing ages. As for wifi - don't remember, entertainment - it's not like Brendan on Coach trip but they had a tv which showed a film. They arranged food at a pub before the game although I stuck to the sandwich buffet rather than go for the curry offered. Pretty good value all in but I think the service offered by the club is probably pretty similar. The routes were the same, the pick-up points were the same, the halfway stops were the same.
A Saints fan wanting entertainment. Is he a newbie? Only a few tickets left for Uddersfield, what is this sudden love-in with the grim North?
