A lovely time of year unless you're up to your armpits in sheep. You look after those babies Remote. Keep them safe from those nasty foxes.
Is it lambs season already? I've often wondered that if lambs fall out of sheep, why doesn't Appleton's fall out of heavy trees? Mr Newton's life would have been a lot different. Anyway, good luck with lambing. Make sure you look after yourself while you're busy looking after everything else.
Still under a pressure bandage. Thanks for asking. It's the stiffness in the ankle that is the problem. That and the aching shoulder from the tetanus jab.
Ouch!!! Make sure you treat that wound appropriately. You don't want ulcers developing. I hope you're getting advice. As for the pain, get the best pain killers that you can. I hear rum is very good.
Had a tetanus, got an antiseptic dressing and compression bandage on. Take those off after 5 days, then put on a waterproof antiseptic dressing they gave me. Stitches out after 10 days. Yes, beer was the painkiller of choice on Thursday as the local anesthetic hadn't worn off. Rum last night. Not sure about tonight. Thanks for your concern and pain killing advice. I will heed your wise words.
I am still in France so missed all the excitement. I hope your leg heels soon but did you have to cut a leg off a pair of jeans. Not quite the same incident but my brother, a builder, had an accident on scaffolding which came down on himand severed his achillles tendon. That was eight years ago and despite the efforts ov the hospital he still has an open wound. How it hasn't developed into something worse, I have no idea
Thanks BT. No, I just took the jeans off. A bit tight, but not too bad. I went back to the fateful scene yesterday. Still need to get the panel in place. There's a 6" gap under the middle of the panel, which is supported either end. I realise how fortunate I was that I was scrambling for cover and it was a glancing blow. The panel is 10' long, 3' tall and 4" thick, so will weigh about a third of a tonne. It could have done a lot more damage.
A decent summary of what Mrs Remote said. I got a row off her yesterday for climbing on stuff to reach something. The issue is, my 61 year old body is struggling to keep up with my 18 year old mind. Even my daughter was nagging me a few days ago when I got a railway sleeper up on my shoulder and walked 25 yards to where I needed it. I was blowing a bit at the end.
When did your mind hit the dizzy heights of an eighteen year old? Sounds more like a seven year old mind with all that climbing and messing with train sets.
The back of the miden will be two concrete panels, one of which caused the injury. The side will be 10 (real) railway sleepers, 2 long, 5 high. They are 8'5" long, 12" wide and 6" deep.
