Beautiful. First of the year near Porthcawl too. In the field with Sparkey's (and my wife's) favourite tree.

..........and they look bloody freezing in this awful weather!

Noticed them first thing last Friday morning driving into Laleston doing a favour - well first thing for me anyway.

It was cold and wet then as well, but the sun came out later in the day when I went back and they looked well happy lying in the grass.

1 ewe down, 54 to go.
I had thought the one having quads would have been first to go. She's huge.
    We've never had quads before.
Always a struggle to get 4 to survive. It's hard enough with triplets.
We keep ours in the shed for a week or two, especially if the weather is pants.
They usually go in a paddock with a polytunnel then, so they can get cover if they want.
Easy to do with 60. Not as easy if you run 600.

They're not always that lovely. The reality isn't always great.

Aww, don't spoil the image of young lambs playing around in the field.

    Will do.
The third and the 4th probably. We have had a mum raise triplets but you often have to top them up with a bottle.
Twins are optimum with a ewe having 2 teats.

No news from daughter of any more overnight.
I'll do a check on the way fishing in a couple hours. She'll check lunchtime and I'll to a mid afternoon check. Luckily the fishery and the farm are about 600 yds from each other.

The update from yesterday us that the ewe has no milk, so the first two are on the bottle, feeds every 3 hours.<doh> Hopefully her milk will drop today.
Daughter in the caravan for a bit.<laugh>
