look at the list of those games and you said SHOULD win.

QPR.. looked fariyl good with barton etc starting to play
Swansea... look well organised at least.
Norwich: similar
Blackburn: a bit of a joke
Wigan: horrible pitch we've thrown points away there consistency.
sunderland: inconsistent
west brom: reasonably organised
bolton, decent at home
wolves; hard working defensive

So yes by all rights i'd expect us to win those games but at this point I'd be more accurate in saying I HOPE we win them rather than have something to point to as to why we will win them.

So;

Positives:

1. Suarez and bellamy add a lot of pace and inventiveness.

2. enrique adds pace and solidity at the back

3. Kenny is organised.

Negative:

1. carrgher is dead slow and gets exposed

2. no cb partner for him

3. focus on not conceeding rather than playing our game and scoring goals.


I just can say I HOPE we win more than 5 games on the road but i can't point to any hard evidence that we will... yes its early in the year and we can improve as our new players gel but so far we're behind the 8 ball.

Fortunately, what we think or say on a forum doesn't make one iota of difference to what happens on the pitch (unless Kenny's on here and hanging off our every word of wisdom), so we can be as foolishly optimistic or as depressingly pessimistic as we like and it matters nothing except to let us get it off our collective chest.
The universe- including the hermetically sealed world of football- will go its own sweet way without giving a stuff what we think.
So why don't we all relax, sit back and just enjoy the ride?

like, ermmmmm. I'm just asking why do people think we are bad away from home. I still haven't really gotten a new insight into what reasons there may be behind it.

My own thoughts are hyppia, alonso and mascherano are big losses in this regard as well as carraghers legs. I've shown the goals against as games lost in the past few years so I just wonder how we're going to solve it.

It's perhaps also to do with a lack of motivation in comparison to home games. Although, as professional footballers, they should be able to motivate themselves no matter what, playing away from home will affect them, if only subconsciously. The level of performance won't drop purposefully. Last season we beat Chelsea away drew with Arsenal, and somehow got a couple of goals at United. Those games 'seem' more important because of the opposition, so the performance improves. Away games against lesser sides like Wigan don't hold this importance, and so we tend to do less well in them. Other times we just generally have a poor game, like at Goodison last season.

well that is true, beating chelsea away or utd away in "big" games is great but its only 3 points... wigan away is 3 points AND the chance ofr goal difference!

I can accept any one "bad day" those happen as we saw v spurs. its just points have leaked away over the past couple of years so how will it change?

1. stop the goals against
2. be more urgent and alive and "about their work"
3. as a result score more goals
