"All parties unanimously agreed throughout the process that the safety of all supporters attending fixtures at the Stadium of Light is of paramount importance and this was ultimately the determining factor behind the decision taken."

The safety of the 'home' supporters was never an issue before some stupid twat decided to put them above us, so the safety of all supporters attending fixtures at the Stadium of Light is obviously not of paramount importance <doh>

"These measures have had an extremely positive impact on away supporter conduct and dramatically reduced the incident rate to ensure that it is now in line with other areas of the stadium."
This is because we haven't played the teams with the arsehole supporters since they started this review, isn't it <doh>

What a load of absolute ****e . . . . they obviously don't give a toss about our safety :emoticon-0145-shake and they're happy that we've just got to put up with it :steam:

Hmmm. One bad incident and the club will be back to square one. It’s inevitable things will continue to be thrown down.

It’s an absolute dereliction of duty. No care for the fans. Sit there like turkeys waiting to be hit. How can they say that a net won’t stop bottles and flares? I’m glad I sit under the north stand upper projection bit. Poor very poor SAFC.

Wont it need to change anyway if we get promoted? Just kicking the can down the road a bit.

It’s not just the safety aspect either, the atmosphere has never been the same since they moved the fans up there.

Good football will bring a good atmosphere.
I don't think I will ever complain about the atmosphere after watching that game on Sunday

In all honesty, where in the stadium could they have been moved to without upsetting people? The stadium was designed and built to house them in the South End, but that has become the de-facto home end.
North Stand has the BCB, West Stand is corporates, South East corner is family zone

The mistake was moving them in the first place

They should have just swapped with the S.W. Corner, like has been said numerous times. That way the atmosphere would never have suffered and the danger that putting them above home fans has caused would never have arisen.
The police cells are at that end, similar to where they were at Roker Park (I found that out the hard way a long time ago), and everything was already set up for away fans from the start :emoticon-0148-yes:

I suppose it’s good news about rail seats in the South Stand and North Upper from 2024/25.

As someone who sits in the North Stand
Had hoped they would move them. Not surprised they haven't
Disappointed that they think its all sorted. Stuff still gets thrown down.
Hope I'm wrong but think its an accident waiting to happen unfortunately.
Also think its a major factor why the North Lower doesn't sell well.

Right on all counts. I won't sit there again because of the ****e raining down.

And, as someone said, WHEN someone gets hurt, the club is absolutely wide open to legal action.

Its either nets for known arsehole clubs, or move the away fans. And if they dont, they can expect a big bill and a ton of adverse publicity one day down the line.

There are no ifs here. The day is coming. I was about three yards away when the arsholes from Portsmouth threw a smoke/flare down. Anything could have happened, and it will happen one day.
