I'd put them in the NWC. Keeps the busses at that end and they are off camera as you say. Putting them next to the Roker end would just increase the chances of bother imo. Plus we would get arsehole away fans damaging the Stokoe statue. There is a fair bit to consider with this one, it's not as easy as just picking one place and swapping them.
We were away at Newcastle. Ellis Short asked where the away fans were sitting (before the fans started coming in), Quinn pointed Top of the stadium and said "up there", Short then asked if we could do that, and the rest is history.
