I've just been diagnosed with yet another knee injury that can be put down to my footballing days, because it's been there for so long it'll never be 100% without surgery. Could've been avoided if I didn't get a "you'll be fine" from everybody at my club, I don't think it's about being soft, it's about protecting the young 'uns.
That's not at all true. Yeah you get people who back out of tackles and go off injured after breaking a nail. But I've only ever stopped playing for injuries twice ever. Once I broke both bones in my lower arm (wasn't a pretty site, i saw the premier league tigers will vouch for me there) and the second time I got a 15% tear in my medial ankle ligaments. Most you'll find are like me who'll play through little niggles or impact injuries and will only go off for something big.
