NO NO NO NO NO SpursDisciple,it's to Spurs or Sex? and I am not left handed ok. I'd rather not the competition between the keepers PNP. I'd prefer Brad to leave because of non selection than Lloris. We have to look to the future.
So would I TMT, but there's enough games for both to be kept happy. Friedel's not silly and he knows that we have to move on, but it's also nice to have a back-up keeper who we can call upon to do a good job if we need to.
Well AVB seems to know what he wants and what he's doing. I feel sorry for Gomes, there are I know mixed opinions about him and I hope he finds a good club soon. He can still do a job.
i think Gomes has only got himself to blame TMT...he had it all at his feet...never quite had the same kind of affection for him since i saw him rolling around in tears and needing an aspirin..he gives off a negative demeanour on the pitch and is better off staying off it....is a nice guy off the pitch but im on about the footballer.
I'd love to see Gomes loaned out to a Championship club for the rest of the season. Tell him to get fully used to the physical side of the game and the come back for the next campaign and fight for the number 1 jersey with a clean slate. Friedel and Cudicini can only play on for so long, so I'd like to have some decent back-up and competition for Lloris, without having to break the bank to bring people in. I was told today by a Millwall fan that their keeper is "****", so perhaps Sherwood should give his old Watford teammate Kenny Jackett a ring and sort it out? It would allow our coaching staff to keep an eye on his progress and time at the club seemed to do Townsend and Kane a lot of good.
Back up for Lloris yes but not competition. I'd prefer he was always first choice as Clemence was for Liverpool and Shilton for Forest and England. I want to keep him for as long as possible because I think he's bloody good.
His confidence is low TMT. As PNP suggests, he needs to get some games in the Championship, keep a few clean sheets and come back and start again. Not sure that is what will happen though as I don't think there's a way back for him at Spurs.
I admire AVB's adherence to the first rule of strategy, which is never change a winning game. But it's worrying. The Lloris situation isn't keeping me up nights, but I really want to see Ade start for us--and yet, I'd keep starting Defoe as well, as long as we keep winning.
I don't think that Villas-Boas has been doing that exactly, RWAEB. A lot of the players that would really be pushing for a starting place have been unavailable to him or we'd have seen more rotation, in my opinion. Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto, Naughton, Parker, Livermore and Adebayor have all missed at least a fair chunk of the season, so far.
Good interview here with Freund. Seems to put to bed the rumours that AVB and he don't get on http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...ttenham?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
We've heard the rumours about how Freund has "settled in", but much like our early season results, just because things get off to a sticky start doesn't mean they will stay that way throughout the season. There seems to be more interaction between Freund and AVB during the game than before, and he seems more animated. Let's hope it all works out OK because I am a big admirer of his time as a player.
