£250,000 house stamp duty down from £7,500 to £2,500 saving £5,000, did you favour the old way where an extra £50 on the sale price could mean an extra £5k stamp duty?

Not correct.I sold a house in 2010 for exactly £250k.The solicitor did it that way because the duty was only £2500.

I said SOLD a house not bought one.It was for a God Botherer who didn't want to stump up.

OK, £250k and a penny would be an extra £5k stamp duty. Imagine if they did that with Income Tax, it would be madness I tell you.
