The quote on TV was it had a smaller population than Leicester. Though that depends on which list you go by, as they are based on different criteria. I only mention that as I looked at a few following the debate on support and city sizes a while back. The nearest place in population to Iceland on one of them is Wakefield. If Iceland can turn out that many decent players from a population of 333,000 at the same time you have to wonder why we have produced so few good players down the years from the larger combined population of Hull and East Riding.
No I wouldn't. No one would be spouting inaccurate nonsense and having a hissy fit when someone points it out in an empty house.
Apparently Ronaldo left the pitch without shaking any of the Iceland players' hands or going to applaud the Portugal fans (the rest of the Portugal players did do both of these, by the way). He then in a post match interview criticised Iceland for playing like a small club and celebrating like they won at full time. Why do people like this arrogant piece of ****? Such a ****ing ****. He doesn't even celebrate his own ****ing team's goals unless he scored them. Dickhead.
Being a volcanic island probably has a lot to do with it, Iceland is a hotbed of talent. Plus they don't have RL there.
What a prick. He was too busy doing his weird fake laugh thing as if to suggest the ref had made an hilariously poor decision in calling and end to the game. A bit like the fake cry thing he does after missing a chance to score.
It's times like this that i'm so glad Messi has been around for the last 10 years to consistently piss on Ronaldo's chips, what a bellend
I bagged off with an Icelandic model in Magaluff,of all places, in 1990. I was 18, in the Army with big arms and a six pack. I'm now 44 with arms like noodles and it's more of a party seven these days. Those days of glory are but a distant memory.
I really want someone to fake injury to get Ronaldo sent off then do a little smile and wink to the camera. Then I'll just sit back and wait for his little childish tantrum.
That would be interesting to see given his churlishness at little Iceland having the effrontery to not let the mighty Portugal beat them. How dare they!
Doesn't surprise me at all this, the whistle went and one of the Iceland lads went straight to Ronaldo to shake his hand, was obviously in awe of him still despite the 90 minutes past, Ronaldo completely ignored him and the Iceland fella rightly gave up realising his hero was a ****ing dick.
wonderful comment in the Guardian, 'we'd suggest Cristiano Ronaldo take a good long hard look in the mirror, if we didn't know that he already spends several hours a day doing exactly that.'
