5th test, 2nd day Aus look on course for 450/500.

Highlight of the day so far, Blowers describing his last trip to the proms: "Stephen Fry was in Roger's box". I didn't know he was practising.

England need 227 to win from 44 overs.
Final session of the final test and all results possible. Hope England try to chase this total.

    Dark my arse.
This may well be Woakes one and only test match but he's perfect for this situation.

I'm about 30 miles north of the Oval and you could still be out there playing, no clouds just the odd wisp. Glad you enjoyed it webel, would have liked a result myself.

We got a result.....Just not one that satisfied anyone.

Believe me, I would have liked to have seen those last 4 overs. I was laughing at the situation, not the outcome.

You know I like cricket, but **** like that is why folk take thie piss out of of it. A big part of me says that is just one of the vagaries of the game. My initial reaction was to laugh. It is ridiculous.

The light was good enough for another 4 overs. I'm out of pocket as a result either way would have seen me in profit but like you say, the end was a farce. Can you imagine similar in football - it would cause a riot.

Yeah, but you know the drill. They called it on day 1 and can't deviate from that. I can remember Graham Thorpe playing in the dark in the sub continent to win a game. That was 20 years so now probably. Things change....not always for the best.

Congrats to the girls last night.

A really good game to watch.

This format covering all 3 types of games
is a real innovation, keeps the interest going.

Next match at Southampton on Thurs before the mens game

    Well worth watching on SKY

England chasing an unlikely 249 in the first T20 match, from the BBC:

Morgan fails again, Root and Bopara going along nicely, massive task with 4 wickets down and needing nearly 15/over.

Great innings from Root and decent reply by England, one Aus player won the match though.

Not much prospect of play in the first ODI.

It must be every English cricketer's dream to one day captain the England team and yet this cherished role has been handed to someone who is neither English nor a capable batsman. Morgan can score runs against village cricketers but he has failed time after time after time against quality bowlers. What are the selectors playing at?

    2nd ODI.

Could have been a different game if that LBW had not been overturned and by all accounts it was out, Aus would have been on 0/2. Aus went on to make a quite large total of 315 and with England only having 3 batsmen get into double figures, it was more than enough to win the game. Carberry needs to make some runs in the next game or his England career might be over very quickly.

    3rd ODI.

Carberry desperately in need of some runs to get his England career off to a start has sacrificed his wicket to save KP. This shows that he puts the team before himself which is good but will he get another chance?
