Right then on the basis that there will be at least one rain affected test - probably Chester Le Street, I am going to stick my neck out and predict a rather nervy 2-1 series win to England. What is your prediction?
I think we'll stuff them 4-0, there are no great players in the Aus side anymore and we have a bowling attack to blast them away.
I rate their bowling attack, so if their batting manages to hold up I can see them winning a game 3-1 England
Can't see us loosing a game, might draw 1 or 2,but they aint good enough. Looking forward to Weds, got my tickets for Notts. Can't beat first day of the first test. magic
Only England could have a team 117-9 and end up limping to defeat. Time for captain Cook to rediscover his best form and put us back in charge of this game.
There's another Ashes thread in general chat which has had quite a few comments: http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/219265-The-Ashes
Stunning finish - Edgbaston all over again. I hope we can win some games in a more straightforward manner as it isn't good for the blood pressure
In test cricket I take 330 as a par score and with England on 289/7 it's looking like they will reach roughly that target. This could be another very close game.
361 was a decent score in the end Stopme. They scored quite quickly as well which makes me think the Aussies may be even more rapid if they get their eye in. All makes for a captivating weekend.
The Aussies need to work out when to use their reviews not that I'm complaining. TMS has got some whiney-voiced pop star in for lunch and David Cameron.
Unlucky Rogers he might have reviewed that had Watson not wasted one and would have been given not out.
Aus 96/7 at tea, a shambles. Might be an opportunity to make them follow on, I'd bat again though, try to set Aus a target of 600 or 2 days to survive. Really grind them down.
8 down. I think England will bat again especially being 1-0 up in the series and so much time left in the game
Terrible start to England's second innings but I still can't see anything other than an England win in this test.
