LeedsLover - How do you value that £500k if Austin stays, continues to perform as he has the last few weeks and the difference of him in the squad means we avoid relegation? Sharp was told he could go, he decided to stay and won us 2 points on Saturday, what value might those two points be worth at the end of the season? We have made cut backs all year, Pearce, Warnock and Hunt have all left, I agree we have an abundance of midfield players at present but sell/release one of those that are not making a difference at the moment. New formation, Austin playing well, unbeaten in January in the league, 7 points from 9 against very good top half opposition, now really isn't the time to allow a first team 11 selection to walk out the door. **Edit - Beat me to it WJ ** Getting worrying we are agreeing more and more
Nope, see my post in deadline day thread. Sky have now backtracked on the story as Leeds & Wigan say it hasn't happened! (Might still happen though - they didn't say t wouldn't, just that it hadn't).
Hearing more and more that the ball is in Austin's court, hopefully he will say no to the move and stay. Would you want to join a team 7 points adrift of safety and leave a team that has finally found their feet? I will regret saying this I am sure but I have a feeling he will turn them down. Contracted up to a Div 1 team for next season or a free agent with a choice of where to go come July?
WJ, You're entitled too, I saw it from perspective, you saw it from yours. Now stick your Dukes up........
Admitted Ristac, there's a lot of seesawing going on in regards to Austin, which is unusual for a player only valued at 500,000 quid.
Which leads me to believe it is the player stalling and all things considered you would have to be mad to join Wigan when you will be a free agent in July and you are currently playing well.

Austin going nowhere. Official Club statement: Chairman Andrew Umbers and club can confirm that midfielder Rodolph Austin is not for sale and will remain a Leeds United player beyond Monday’s 11pm transfer deadline. There has been significant interest in the player and media reports over the weekend and on Monday had suggested that the club had agreed a deal for Rudy to exit Leeds United, but this is not the case. Rudy remains a vital part of Neil Redfearn’s squad and will play a major part for Leeds United in the remaining 18 Sky Bet Championship matches and beyond. The midfielder has expressed a desire to remain at the club and help head coach Neil Redfearn make the season as successful as possible. The club are delighted that Rudy wishes to remain part of the club and the midfielder reported to Thorp Arch and trained with his team-mates as normal on Monday morning. - See more at: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/art...t-austin-is-not-for-sale#sthash.DWtzLqWg.dpuf
I said I wasn't happy with all the 2nd rate foreigners coming to the club, but I have to give them a chance, I'd rather **** British/irish players though who Are you being ironic?
the whole world hates a smart arse. if Tonge had not gone, Austin had his kit in a bag and was going down the M62/M61. What NO ONE considered was that someone might actually take ichael Tonge...... simples....
