He certainly seems to have plenty in the tank. Could need some more bad luck to see a close championship fight, but a championship fight on track might not be on the cards. Bleh.
I think it's a case of same old same old, the Merc is the class of the field in clean air, but loses more of it's performance than the others in dirty air. Also, we don't know what Vettel was doing, was he trying to make a gap and give himself breathing space, or was he playing the long game. Lewis had been warned over the radio about his engine temp, and that was relayed to Seb, so was he letting Lewis close in on purpose so his engine would have cooling issues knowing the more he makes Lewis take out of his engine now, the less he'll have in 6 future races.
Lewis will be 0.6 up the road, Bottas 0.2 and the rest here and there. Can’t see it being a competitive WDC myself. Lewis was pulling out of the toe and Seb often seemed to drift out to his line, logically trying to throw hot dirty air back.
yeah, I agree on pretty much all points, Bottas has started the worst possible way, though I doubt whether Lewis would've faired much better from 15th on the grid tbh, a place or 2 higher maybe, but Mexico showed that the car isn't that great in dirty air, but in the lead it's almost uncatchable. Reliability, you seem to be our only hope.
