If we by some miracle stay up then nothing will change, The yanks will still be raking it in and the fans have to watch dross year in year out and if you are willing to watch us be humiliated every week then i'm not and i suspect most fans dont.....Relegation will be a blessing in disguise and a kick in the teeth for the yanks......I hope Jenkins goes too and maybe we can be a football club again and not a money making machine for the yanks...
The man overlooked for Swansea City job is now one of European football's hottest properties Marcelino is doing an incredible job at Valencia but he could have once been Swansea's manager This season had been in charge throughoutPaul Clement says no squad overhaul needed at Swansea City after backing chairman's claims SHARE THIS VIDEO please log in to view this image WATCH NEXT This 8m ex-Swansea City flop has just scored his first goal... 547 days after his last onet's one of the reasons it enraptures and delights, the ability for fans to look back with the benefit of hindsight and rue a misplaced pass, a skewed shot — or even a missed managerial appointment. And while Swansea City remain indebted to Paul Clement and the terrific job he did to haul them from relegation last season, there could have been a different man at the helm even before Clement's predecessor Bob Bradley arrived in SA1. It could have been an entirely different story. please log in to view this image Bob Bradley, Francesco Guidolin and Paul Clement Are Swansea City now just boring to watch? Their problems and the actual evidence examined Because one of the men interviewed for Bradley's job in October last year, following the sacking of Francesco Guidolin, was Marcelino Garcia Toral. If the name wasn't familiar to Swansea fans then, it ought to be now. Marcelino, as he is simply know, was down the pecking order for the job that would eventually be given to Bradley amid a tirade of discontent from the Swansea City Supporters' Trust. Ironically one of the other men interviewed was Clement. But while Clement waited another couple of months before finally landing the coveted job, Marcelino remained out of work, looking for an opening in his native Spain. More than 12 months later, Marcelino is one of the hottest properties in European football management. His work has become one of the stories of the new La Liga season and his name is being mentioned in the same breath as Zinedine Zidane and Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde. please log in to view this image Marcelino, then Villarreal manager, meeting Jurgen Klopp before a Europa League semi-final against Liverpool Yet surprisingly, given his astonishing CV which includes winning promotion with Recreativo de Huelva, Real Zaragoza and Villarreal, the Spaniard — formerly a middling sort of player with Sporting Gijon (among others) — didn't get a job until May this year following that brief dalliance with the Swans. Even then it was a poisoned chalice he inherited when agreeing to take over sleeping Spanish giants Valencia. The famous Mestalla club has become infamous for sacking managers; since Unai Emery's departure in 2012 they've had 12 different men in the dugout, including a disastrous spell under Gary Neville which lasted 28 games. Neville's tenure was actually the third longest of any Valencia manager since Emery, which brings into sharp focus what a good job Marcelino is doing, sweeping away the crisis with an astonishing run of results. From the players' diets to some smart summer signings, Marcelino had turned the 'trouble' club into Lia Liga frontrunners. They currently sit second in the table, unbeaten after 10 games and four points above Real Madrid. please log in to view this image Marcelino giving instructions to his Valencia players on the touchline After successive 12th-placed finishes it has been an incredible turnaround for the club and most attribute that to Marcelino. What's more, he's done it playing attacking, exciting football. "A team with 80 per cent possession and only three shots on goal bores me,” he said. “Even the oldest people in the stadium don’t remember a spectacle like this,” said one local paper of Marcelino's style after a rip-roaring 4-0 win over Sevilla. “They were unstoppable in attack." So as Swansea face the daunting prospect of another Premier League relegation fight , the man who could have been their manager is hoping to challenge for Champions League football, a Europa League spot at the very least. Either would be a serious achievement for modern-day Valencia. 'What if Marcelino had been our manager?' We will probably never know. You know the truth is that it was all luck. Jenkins and co fell lucky in the choices they made. Now,the $hit has hit the fan and the luck has run out. For us as fans that is.For Jenkins and co have bank balances we can only dream of. Luck be a lady tonight...
That game yesterday is as every bit as bad as under Bob Bradley, Clement must go the guy is clueless, wish we could ditch big nose as well though........
I don't understand this bit. What money are the Yanks raking in. We made a profit on Summer transfers some of which probably had to be used to offset the loss we made last year. but still hope that money will be spent in January. Don't disagree with the last part of that but think the main problem is we are still passing the ball sideways and back as we used to do under Martinez and Rodgers but it was a new tactic at the level we were playing at then, we used to break quickly once the opposition had been moved about enough. There are two problems now. The first is other coaches have now come up with tactics to nullify this by not chasing the ball so much and trying to ignore this tactic and hit us on the break when we lose patience and lump the ball forward. Secondly the midfield that started on Saturday is lacking in pace and the ability to do one touch passing. They nearly always need one or two touches before moving the ball on. Carroll being the worst offender.. The Leicester game showed the difference with the speed they moved the ball from defence to attack. I hope they spend money from the transfer surplus in January to address this. Our recent recruitment has been poor to say the least and am concerned that Bony is the latest mistake. Finally I feel sorry for Clucas who is receiving verbal abuse from some fans when he is being played out of position by the manager which seems obvious to a lot of fans.
I've had hoped that Swansea could turn the corner, we need Welsh teams in the Prem. However after listening to Clement he seems a defeated man, he has no drive and the players will pick up on that, banter aside you need to get some one with an up and at them attitude, forget the pretty pretty stuff get down and fight for every point. Who ? I'll leave that to you lot just get it done and done quick.
We've still got one team playing in it ,who knows there maybe another in a couple of years , Newport are doing rather well ATM
They only had an hour discussing Clements job ....55 minutes of that was counting their profits.....And 5 minutes praising Clement for doing a good job...
