Valid question asked....how far down the chain do we have to go to get an honest man..
Probably as far as the terraces!
What a load of bollocks! Apparently Platini had received £710,000 for his 4 years work from 1998 - 2002 but also had a verbal agreement that he would be paid another £1,350,000 9 years later! What a load of bollocks! How can anyone believe a word they say? (and they believe they will be exonerated!) They should all be jailed for life and all those millions sitting in their off shore accounts? how does grass roots football get that back? My firm paid me about £70,000 between 1998 and 2002 working full time but my boss said "don't worry John I'll give you another £150,000 in 9 years time" cheers boss (P.S. I'm still waiting!)
Indeed. FIFA stinks to high heaven. Personally, I never took Platini to be one for the bung, but it takes all sorts perhaps. If he isn't finished in the offices of authority within football I will be surprised. He'll have a comfortable retirement, no doubt.
Blatter says there was a gentleman's agreement between him and Platini over the 2 million. I'm sure we would all accept a handshake as a promise of receiving 2 mill....none of us would want anything in writing, would we?
Putting aside if there was ever a 'gentleman's agreement' for a moment, this is not Blatter's bleeding money ! It is monies raised through clubs and competitions paid for, in part, by fans. I keep feeling my gaster is as flabbered as it can be, then Blatter speaks again.
Bernie Ecclestone's comments are pretty disgraceful. Money buried many of his dodgy dealings, so he thinks its just the norm. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/34552570
