Cup ties against bigger opposition at Roker Park take some beating. The greatest however was Wembly 73 - I was in the Leeds end and seeing and hearing the red and white wall was phenomenal.

The Stretford end when it was a standing area was impressive. Had some hairy moments in the Scoreboard end in the 70's and 80's.
It still is a standing area.
Sit down anywhere up by me and you'll see nowt but the bloke in front's arse.
5th round of the cup in 1973 was incredible at Roker Park. Wembley 1973 was class as was Norwich League Cup Final in 1985. Play Off against Charlton was also up there. At the SoL, the first derby against the mags when we came back from behind to draw 2-2 was fantastic. The promotion game was against Burnley was as well.

The night we bossed Old Trafford was a bit special.
Our first game at the SOL, against Ajax. The noise just before kick off was deafening.
The semi final play off against Sheffield Utd. The noise that night was incredible.
I can't find a video for that so here's our record premier league win with a SKP hat-trick.
Last season, that game against Chelsea. It was special for me, not just because of the result and the fact I knew we were staying up then, but also because I watched it with my daughter who I could see was gripped with one of the best atmospheres the stadium has seen. A very special day.
I've been watching football for all of my life and not just Sunderland. I've been to random games like Liverpool v Chelsea, Man Utd v Arsenal, Newcastle v Arsenal (Arsenal end) and I've watched several games in the Netherlands.
I can honestly say, taking off the red and white specs (which I generally do anyway) when we are singing our hearts out and we are up for it, there's nobody in this country that matches us for the atmosphere. Nobody.

I always judge how good fans are by the away following, as most home fans will sit in silence mumbling unless the ref is having a stinker or they're battering the opposition.
Some of the European clubs, make English fans look like a pack of librarians, it really is one thing that Sky's money can't buy.
The worst fans by a mile, are the City fans, I don't know what they are, they have no identity, their home fans are desperate their away fans are boring. They seem to have lost a lot of their hard core following over the past few years.

Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund supporters have won the first FIFA Fan Award for their act of solidarity when signing "You'll Never Walk Alone" to remember those that lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.
During their Europa League quarter-final second leg in April 2016 "You'll Never Walk Alone" was sung loud and proud by both the home and away ends at Anfield as an act of solidarity to remember the 96 that died at the 1989 FA cup semi-final.
Ten days after the match, an inquest concluded the fans who died that day were 'unlawfully killed'.
.Liverpool's director of communications, Susan Black, said: "Thank you for the award. It's great that supporters are being recognised at such a prestigious award.
"I'd like to thank the Dortmund fans who not only came in volumes but sang their hearts out and made it a special night."
Liverpool won a breathless encounter 4-3 that night to secure a 5-4 aggregate success. They went on to oust Villarreal in the semi-finals before losing out to Sevilla in the final in May.
The other two nominees were Iceland fans at Euro 2016, and supporters of Dutch club ADO Den Haag, who brought soft toys to children supporting rival team Feyenoord.
