There were plenty together in the bottom third of maybe E3/E4 (whichever blocks we're next to the away fans).
If there were a few more stewards about in the stands making sure that each group wasn't leaving a single seat space between the group they sit next to, it probably would have been better. All the groups that came in two round the same time as us and after we're splitting up and wandering around trying to find spots together. It's easy to see these blocks from an opposite stand Airlie but you try wandering about trying to spot them from the stairwell whilst everyone's stood up.
Point taken, it isn't the easiest to see these when your actually in the stand, I suppose that's where the stewards need to step in and help people out, wouldn't be hard for a couple to stand at the front and direct the stewards in the stands to the empty seats, although that's far to simple and logical for them to comprehend!
My season Pass is for the South but chose the North for this game with friends from the East...Felt like a great atmosphere in there and hopefully there will be plenty of singing between the North & East....with away fans trapped in between them....Agree the stewards could of maybe helped more getting people seated but...seemed alright in the end.....I
Yeah I didn't really fancy taking my daughter too close to the away fans, you never know what to expect do you? We had a look in E6 and E7 and then headed to the SE corner where there was plenty. Like Mr. Hat says though, its hard to see the seats from the stairwell and would have been nice for a bit of steward intervention!
Get in north stand with your daughter hessle tiger lower down area she will love all the singing and the great atmosphere . Had to go in south stand and the 2 junior tigers hated the silence having been used to e3 and e1 ( now n4 season passes ) Though the juniors are older then your daughter We need all the singer's we can get on the new bunkers
What did you expect to happen? Am I guilty of negligence subjecting my grand daughter to the risk of something in that area. An area incidentally where 3 of us at 5 to 7 got seated together quite easily. In fact at that time there were a number of empty rows. 5 lads arriving after quarter past seven all got seated together. Maybe some people just look for reasons to moan. As for stewards, some were too busy staring at the top of the stand pointing at something to each other then waling up and down the aisle. In the end I said to two of them, one in an orange jacket and the other some bald old guy, would they make their minds up as they were spoiling the view more than anyone who stands up. Also asked them where they were when away fans were in the same area as they could lob smoke bombs and do what they want without stewards taking any interest.
I hope in the North Stand we won't have the same group of stewards as we had in front of e1 who spent 90 mins glaring at everyone and pointing at people or plod filming everyone Bloody stupid seen as there is NEVER any trouble
Not too sure how good a thing this will be. Last night there weren't that many standing and singing. Admittedly they were spread out. But they still wouldn't have filled the area which saw away fans all standing. Look a the photo in Daily Mail. Everyone behind the goal sat down. Compare to away teams last season. The pay on the day ones will probably include a lot of people who are there to watch the other team and the season ticket holders won't spread far enough across. I can see there still being arguments about standing up. Naturally the stewards will get involved and the area which previously had their attention, E1-3, will be left to do as they please. Police were videoing last night for some unknown reason.
I was in N3. I thought the atmosphere for most of the time was worse that being in the E1 to E3 corner. For a new bunkers far too many people sat down. That may change for the Premier League, I hope so. One of the highlights for me was hearing "If you're West Stand stand up" coming from West upper.
Looking at the ticketing page, there is not many seats left in the North Stand for the Stoke City game. All seem to be low down, which I guess is the worst view behind a goal for seeing the other end. Most areas have limited availability, apart from the West Upper.
I was in n7 or whatever it was, the atmosphere seemed pretty good, then again when your in thr midst of it, it's probably appears louder than it is I liked the bantee with the east stand, it's got potential but I fear too many of the singers are spread out in the north stand and too big of a gap to the away fans, which will give the away fans a louder advantage especially when premier league teams bring 2-3k
The Ulltras will be in N2 for the Premier League and not N7 and E£ will be full of opposition supporters. I hope it takes off, but it will be harder than yesterday.
exactly the probable singing contingent will be in n2, but the e1 from last season will be all spread out, and with such a big gap to the away fans, I think the away fans will be heard more, too much segregation we want the singing home fans in n4/5 really trencin had about 100 max and could be heard quite a few times, so what happens when a team bring 3k?
Nobody can bring more than 2,500, that's the maximum allocation. I did think Stoke might be a good opener, as they may only take the half allocation, but as it's the opening game of the season, they'll probably bring more than normal.
If your in N4. You better stand up and sing.....or else ! North stand was louder then the East Stand last night from were I was sat in the south stand .
After hearing for years how away fans sounded louder than the home fans in E1-3 because the acoustics were better in the North Stand it will be interesting to see the excuses for away fans sounding louder in E1-3 than the home fans in the North Stand.
plus they get free travel again, i think for the first few games, the north stand will be loud as it's a new place for everyone, i'd say by october is a good gauge of the success, i was in e1, and now in n1, which i am not excited about, i'd much prefer to be in n4/n5, then again if the ultras are in n2, shouldn't be too bad if stoke do bring the max allocation, it's a good test of the new stand
exactly, it's not the stand, it's because the majority of the city singing contingent was really only e1 and e2, so unless many others from elsewhere join in, it's going to make no difference, we all know going to away games ourselves, away crowds are naturally louder
