Why go on loan to Birmingham??? Well, first of all, I imagine Harry painted him a picture that didn't leave him too many options. Harry probably thought he would ask for a transfer - and that would be that. He hasn't, because, in my view, the money is more important to him than any football based ambitions he may have. He knows full well that he won't get the same money elsewhere, so he's happy to sit his contract out.
I agree with that, but it pulls us out of shape abit, clever teams would switch it perhaps, what I'm saying really, is small details get exposed at this level. Its just something I noticed when he plays, the FB behind him gets a busy time. Your comments have made me think though.
Sticking to the point about Bentley, I wasn't saying he was lazy but he doesn't have the pace or fitness to cover the ground that a lot of other wingers do. I was also shocked at his technique, it was something I was impressed with at Blackburn but he seemed to take 4 or 5 touches to control an aerial ball for us. Then his crosses, his greatest asset, hardly ever beat the first man and he seemed content with trying to deflect them off a player for a corner nearly everytime. He probably would've been better off for us this season, when we had a slower build up but I don't remember him getting many/any chances.
O'Hara and...nope, the only other player to leave was Woody, and that's because his contract was up. We haven't even got around to the annual cull of youngsters yet!
