I will ask again, why would I, as a non-believer, celebrate the actions of a believer?

It's like asking why would I celebrate England scoring a goal against Scotland despite me being Scottish.

    And?

Has this made a differece to her ability to walk around the country shaking the hands of the numerous well-wishers?

Has this made a difference to her role as Head of State when representing Great Britain abroad?

Has this made a difference to her speaking to the race goers at Ascot today?

Erm, because as a non-believer, I have no interest whatsoever in those who PRIMARILY represent any religious faith.

The Queen, despite having these religious roles, is primarily my Head of State and Head of Nation, that is why I celebrate her tenure. She represents me, the head of ANY church doesn't <doh>

Just tied you up in knots, haven't I? <laugh>

That's right, you are indeed...my little Muslim bitchboy <rofl>

    Job done. Nighty night <laugh>

Do you even understand 'monarch/monarchy' sovereignty?

You ever heard of the divine right of kings?

If you knew these things you wouldnt be celebrating the jubilee as it goes against your atheist beliefs

I say that, but its obvious you are a plastic atheist, as you clearly dont know what it means

    Yes, thanks for asking anyway

You ever heard of the divine right of kings?

I hadn't, but I have now. England abandoned its use in 1688-89. So you failed there <doh>

If you knew these things you wouldnt be celebrating the jubilee as it goes against your atheist beliefs

Why would some outdated religious pish stop me, as a non-believer, celebrating all the good the Queen has done for Great Britain during her reign? <doh>

I say that, but its obvious you are a plastic atheist, as you clearly dont know what it means

A plastic atheist?? Now I've heard of "plastic Paddies" and they are called that because they are all wannabe Irishman when infact the closest they come to being one is having supped a pint of Guinness. Why would I want to be a wannabe Atheist? It's hardly the sort of thing to give you uber kudos in life <doh>

nighty night my biatch, will wlak you gain another time

I don't even know what the **** that is even meant to mean? <doh>

    <laugh> Just face it, you're a ****** <ok>

Why on earth (or for heaven's sake) would anyone in their right mind celebrate being ruled over by anyone, let alone an unelected woman of German descent? Am enjoying myself in the republic of Portugal as I write this. Hope that it pisses on the pathetic parade.

Poor answer Fan. What about the devil on the United badge? What about United's relationship with Singha and Smirnoff (alcohol = haraam) and Betfair (gambling = haraam)? What about the fornication (haraam) practised by Ryan Giggs and no doubt several other United players? How do they sit with your strong Muslim beliefs? As for following/supporting, surely you should only follow and support Islam? Is anything else not a form of idolatry (haraam)?

Basically you go onto say that Islam allows you to be a hypocrite. If a Muslim can be a hypocrite, so can an atheist.

As for 'good try, no cigar', I think if you read back you'll see that my comment was backed by a few people. Your only supporter was eddievee, who was just trying to get one over on BH.

Just like that credibility poll <whistle>

Says who? Christmas falls at the time of the winter solstice, a holy time for the druids long before Christianity came to these islands. It marks the triumph of light over darkness. Easter falls around the time of the first full moon after the spring equinox, and has been observed as a celebration of re-birth and renewal from ancient times. Both are a time for the fortunate to be with friends and family, and to be grateful for the good things in life, regardless of religeous belief. Atheists and agnostics are most definately not excluded. Neither are practitioners of other faiths.
