"That is not the point – the point is that if Mormons can believe what they want, as can anyone." But is it ok for them to force their beliefs onto children? For example, having a child circumcised, (people are disgusted by female genital mutialation in Africa, but to do the same thing to a little Jewish boy is fine?) or in some cases, parents refusing to let their child have life saving surgery, because it is against what they believe in. That same child could have grown up to be an Athiest, if his parents hadn't let him die, because their chosen "fairy tale" said it was the right thing to do. In my eyes, this is child abuse.
Matron has said we are all getting fat and lazy on the ward. So at lunchtimes we only have a can of Tab to wash down a measly apple. She's also got the lot of us singing as well, she calls us the moron tab and apple choir.....just thought I'd say like......
That's the second time you have said that tonight. I am not going to rise to the bait however. If you don't like this thread DON'T POST ON IT.
You don't disrupt my thread and I won't disrupt this any more. The ball is well and truly in your court and the peace and harmony for this thread and the board now lies in your hands.
Sorry, but I have not disrupted your thread. You are playing the injured prima donna. I asked you a perfectly civilised question about a throwaway remark you made regarding me. The fact is that you have no answer, since you made it up,trying to look big and impressive. You are a complete fraud,as I'm sure you are well aware. So now you have to be aggressive and threatening to throw a smokescreen over it all. If you feel the need to disrupt this thread, then disrupt away. It's what little boys do,by the way.
An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?" "Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly. "Okay," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?" The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea." To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss God, Heaven and Hell, or life after death, when you don't know crap?" And then she went back to reading her book.
Philosophy should enter this discussion because it totally screws over everyone. Everybody knows, including the Vaticans own science department, that the Universe is built around mathematics. There is no other way of saying it, our very reality is only possible through the weirdest of all naturally occuring phenomenons known as numbers. Now everybody outside of the most advanced levels of astrophysics believe numbers to be true and when asked everybody has the ability to comprehend and even suggest that numbers are in fact an infinite phenomenon. Even if you were to write the largest number possible by place a 9 on every atom in the whole universe, we know that is not the largest number because we all have the simple brain power to say that (unimaginably large) number + 1. You can mutilply that number by itself or even multiple it by itself to the power of itself, we are now approaching a number as big as Googleplex, many times bigger than the number of atoms in our Universe. In fact Googleplex to the power of Googleplex is still many times smaller than the largest number actually used in mathematics, Graham's number. Whilst no human, not even the inventor who was named Graham, can imagine what Graham's number would look like written down we all know Graham's number + 1 is possible. Numbers are thus infinite, such as a premise makes everything wierd. For instance infinity in numbers means there are different types of numbers such positive numbers (+1), negative numbers (-1) and others that our brains are too stupid to yet understand.... And that is true. A + multiplied by a + is a positive, a - multiplied by a - is a positive, a - multiplied by a + equals a negative and + multiplied by a - is a negative. Infinity says somewhere a + multiplied by a - equates to a plus. It's like dividing by zero!!!! Impossible? No. That type of number has been identified and is used in radar and yet no human can imagine what it looks like so we use the letter 'i' to represent them. For instance, 2 x -i = i. Believe it, it is happening. And beyond just +, - and i there are an infinite other types of numbers we have yet to even comprehend. Now back to infinitely large numbers, they are bigger than the Universe itself because there are not enough atoms to write the big numbers down. Infinity thus stretches beyond the boundaries of our Universe, whist it is built on numbers it is also mearly is small (finite) respresentation within a never ending mathemtical reality (infinity). An infinite realm beyond the scope the of other Universe? Could there be infinite universes to accommodate all numbers? Could one of those Universes have a God? Strangely infinity says yes, either now or in the past or in the future the God of the Bibles exists or existed or is yet to exist. Also the same for Allah and all other human Gods and an infinite amount more over an eternity of time. Numbers amazingly make them possible, and not only possible but definite. It does not however stipulate where and when, nor would the God or Gods rule infinity but the other way around. A basic rule of infinity is that it never ends, whereas any God has the power to cease it's existence beyond return despite its previous onmipotent powers. Infinity by its very meaning cannot be subject to such freewill not be altered, it is just forever. The morale is that without knowing a time reference or even a location, we can all agree that God does and doesn't exist while at the same time not going against our beliefs. You could even argue that numbers are the ultimate God itself, and they exist simply because there is a special type of number making all others possible. Nothing had to create it, it just was there because without it not even nothing could be a true state. For mathematics and numbers already make nothing possible... All you have to do is takeaway 1 from 1. Nothing exists because of numbers, so no numbers and what is left at all? It isn't nothing that is for sure because all reference would be lost. Confused? You should be, we are discussing Infinity yet have finite minds!!!!
