Who is going to watch Saints Versus Fulham at 3 o'clock on Saturday, if you are I think there may be a problem.
The first and most important for me is patience, open mindedness and a love of football and in particular football served up by Saints.
We have had good times and bad, I remember the good ones and discard the bad, but never forget how near we came to extinction.
How very true.......We all want Saints to do well....The vast majority of supporters are forgiving if we lose which is going to happen. However they are not so forgiving if we lose because we have played badly. Thank fully that rarely happen but it does happen as we all know.......
No attributes needed. You can wake up one day and decide you want to support Saints; that's ok by me. I like the thought that you need a little madness.
Just a little. I've got loads! My wife has been telling me for years that she thinks I'm barking for supporting Saints.
I also think that attributes should include waist size, age, bust size, hair colour and relationship status....
Attributes to be a Saints fan: 1. Love football 2. Have no need of trophies, but regard them as a nice surprise. 3. A need to be within travelling distance of the ground (if living far away from SMS have an even healthier dollop of 4) 4. Madness 5. Masochism 6. The ability to explain away a 6.1 defeat as a 'good thing'. 7. The knowledge that we have the best team in the world without needing confirmation by silly things like titles/cups.
You aren't raising questions, dude. You are making accusations disguised as questions as if somehow they could be answered to your satisfaction. Why did we not get more quality defenders in ? We don't know. None of us as fans knows what happened in the transfer window, except to say to you for the hundredth time that it is not as simple as just buying a bunch of players you. The big clubs have more money than Saints, a chance to play in Europe or at least not get relegated, and their games are seen all over the world. Saints cannot compete with that at present. Define travelling distance ? Used to fly over from Cork when I lived there quite a lot , probably going to the match this Sunday as well if I have the time , that does not make me or a fan who lives on the doorstep any better or worse .
This one fella ? I am I brave now ? 1) Cortese is supposed to be a man who wont take no for an answer . 2) Not as much as getting relegated for not purchasing high quality enough players and showing a lack of ambition . 3) Why would they reject of Cortese does not take no for an answer , ie if he wants he gets ? 4) As above . 5) As above . 6) Father Christmas does not come out and play until 1st December . Oh this one , well I ****ing hope to hell we are or heads should roll now , they had from May to line up a new back four did they not ? Of course they are looking which is either a sign of not having the correct players which means they failed to get them in the transfer window OR they had faith in the current lot which is an awful lot more worrying as the average punter could tell you Fonte is a Championship defender at best and Fox/Hooiveld are Celtic rejects so they aint going to be too much cop are they ? This does not take a genius to think of that . SPL players being sold willingly are either **** hot or absolute **** .
I was making a joke at the expense of people who support top teams rather than local ones...but didn't want to upset our faraway support. Not suggesting anything.
