At Last....!

Joe Murphy has always looked like a great keeper. Saying that I've only really seen him on the FLS.

There's still a lot of free agents about, here's a selection:

Adriano Basso (Wolves)
Jason Brown (Blackburn) - Hopefully Leeds bound.
Marcus Hahnemann (Wolves)
Richard Kingson (Blackpool)
Joe Murphy (Scunts)
Paul Rachubka (Blackpool)
Jan Sebek (Chelsea) - Bit of a punt this one, he's 20, in the Czech U20's, is 6'5" and has been a regular in the Chelsea reserves.
Maik Taylor (Brum)
Iain Turner (Everton)
Matt Gilks (Blackpool) - Though he has been offered a new deal at Blackpool.

Hmmm!

Most of those are shyte tho!

I think Fraser Forster is a direct shoe-in for Mannone, but I'm not sure he will leave Newcastle for anywhere other than a return to Celtic.

Of the rest only Turner and Murphy are anything like the quality we have had (IMHO)

Trust me, Southampton will do pretty well with the squad they already have.

So far it's mainly been weakening of Championship teams (Leeds, Millwall, Watford) but I think the most prominent reason why people are panicking is because the club said they wanted to get their business done early.

You'll always get moaners though who are never happy with any of the signings. McKenna will be a very good addition I think, but I (along with 80% of others) have concerns over Adebola

I think Soton are virtually a carbon copy of Naaaaaarrrrrch last season. They even play the same way (ie. one big striker up front with skillful, quick attacking players just behind.

They will do well next season.

I got the impression from the article, that Guzan may well not happen.

So the HDM do deliver good news from time to time!

Three solid signings I think. Apart from the fact that we are light on back-up, signing Hobbs makes the back four a very solid unit.

McKenna is a good leader and a good midfielder. Gives us too many central midfielders but I suppose we could shift some. Adebola gives us another option up front. He's the sort of thing we've been missing.

The squad is coming together now. It just needs a bit more quality in a couple of areas. Goalkeeper is obvious. We need options on the wing but loan deals could solve that problem until Cameron Stewart is back. Someone to create changes from the middle of midfield is the last thing we need.

I'd love to see Fraser Forster come in and as the Toons have said they don't want him back at Celtic due to the SPL 'not testing him enough', but from the others I wouldn't mind Hahnemann, Murphy, Turnet, Taylor or Gilks.
