Excellent words from Bigal, Royston and Ptc, all in praise of one of our finest ever captains. Alongside Mick Mills and Holland. And I go back to Billy Baxter.
    He will be sorely missed.

Hmmm, the word legend is used far too often and cheaply in my opinion. For me there are only a few true Legends, not sure how you come to the conclusion that someone is a club legend but I think much of it has to do with a constant high level input, on and off the pitch, over a long period of time.
    Crawford
    The Beat
    Warky
    Mills
    Butcher
And maybe Holland are club legends but can't say there are many more. There have been many great players but legends for me is a level up.
Morsy for me is on the cusp but not quite there as not had the longevity. He will, however be sorely missed and has been an absolute beast in our promotion years!!
Would you guys put the likes of Whymark, Mariner, Osman, Burley as club legends or just club greats, I just feel legends are the absolute creme de la creme of a club but that's not saying the others haven't been special players
Just slung Holland in there to have a more modern day player, tbh, thinking about it, i probably wouldn't have him on that list<laugh><laugh>

Mariner definitely,Burley probably (because of his time as player and manager).

Lots good points Spanish. I think it is because he was an inspiring skipper who drove the team on, bossed the midfield to win 2 consecutive promotions, that he has been so highly rated and admired. Less so for his occasional crass tackles! And we all know that he found the Prem a step too far.

Totally agree with Spanish.. he's been fantastic for us since he signed, and a true leader for 3-4 seasons...but a legend? Nah, not for me.
