in the end the result didn't need it but salah was robbed of a goal. My main thing is how pundits can be so myopic in going for the VARpool line yet again and make out woves were hard done by when in fact it could easily have been 3 or 4-0 before they fired a few **** shots miles over the bar.
It's just the narrative to will us to drop points and open this thing right up - we know the reality of how the game went. It was extremely nervy due to midweek, but a last gasp wonder tackle from Quansah aside, we coped ok.
Also, I think its the first time i've seen blocked shots be included in shots at goal to go along with this line of thinking It's all hilarious, we'll just keep plugging on
I spare myself from most of this by not listening to them. I don't watch build-up, I mute at half time and after the game, and I mute MotD between games - unless there's some particular controversy I'd like to find out a bit more about, or the occasional interview with a player. I really have no interest in listening to pundits drone on. As far as I'm concerned, the sports stations could all save a lot of money by ditching their pundits, and most of their commentators too.
It's tragic now, TNT have about 4 lined up just waiting: 'Let's bring Rio in on that last incident, what do you think Rio?' 'yeah looked a foul to me' Just absurd.
its actually getting really annoying and I am SO ready for the day where the collective bargaining is broken and the big clubs go sell their own games. Its not even that they are just dull or myopic. They re lining up literal scumbags who are gleeful at anyhting bad for LFC and frnakly I'll bee happy pay FSG direct and never see another game if i can get neville, carragher, ferdinand etc off commentry. I simply don't want to have to hear it.
Thought Salah one on first view looked off to be fair. Not seen many replays to see if someone further away was closer but have to just assume that var didn’t quick job and got it right - can’t moan when they take forever then moan when get it done quick. what I would say is again that is one of those offsides where it totally goes against what offsides is meant to do. It’s meant to stop player getting an advantage. Did Salah get an advantage by being half a yard ahead of his man just inside wolves half? By time he got the ball Wolves player was goal side and he had to beat the man and 10 seconds had passed. Eye of law it’s offside but again, one of those where for me offside needs to be totally re-written with var in use. No one is even gaining an advantage by their foot being ahead of the defender but rest of their body is behind them.
A nervy second half but we did what we had to do and held on to the win. Special mention for Quansah and Endo in the closing minutes. I'd forgotten that Andre went to Wolves after him being touted as 'our player' once the Copa Libertadores was done. I've not got any memory of him playing yesterday. Did anyone notice how well, or otherwise, he played?
I watched with no sound so wouldn't have heard his name but I don't even remember seeing his name on his shirt. Happens sometimes with players I'm not familiar with who have unremarkable games.
Agree. Slot mentioned him in his post match interview saying that he thinks he's back to the level he was before a few confidence sapping games he played earlier in the season.
Diaz was good too. Goal, won the pen, was positive every time he got the ball and no needless fouls in the press - he looked sharp and ready to fight for that LW position.
He played one really nice through ball to Salah with the outside of his right boot on the motd highlights. I haven't seen the whole game.
