Mesut Ozil now has 13 assists for the season. Thierry Henry made 20 in 02/03 and 14 in 04/05,Cesc Fabregas had 17 in 07/08 and Robert Pires 15 in 01/02. Wow and that from a CF who scored shed load of goals! But great stats from the Owl with 13 assists at this time of the season. He is on course to break Henry's record.
Terrible marking from Koscielny and bad defending all round. Villa crowd are now singing and have their hopes up which is diffused through to the players. What are we doing? Far too casual, we need to sort ourselves out.

Just like against Olympiakos, we just overall do not look good when not on the ball, missing the Coq is really showing, we do not look defensively sound as a team.
I was expecting a dip in intensity TBH. We always do this after a big European match. A few years ago we used to loose these games though.
This is ****, we are careless on possession, invite pressure then encourage them to attack and to make it worse when we manage to get the ball back, instead of booting it downfield and starting again, we try and walk it out of our box and give it away again!
It's just not missing the Coq but Sanchez too, those 2 really are a handful for other players when on the field with their aggressive pressing. Having Sanchez back soon will make us defensively better, and that just shows what a super world class player he is, because he's a forward player.
Thank goodness we have a week to recover. We look lethargic and we keep losing possession. That mid-week game didn't help, especially playing two away games in a row.
