He’s looked better than he has recently but still holding the ball too much and needs to bulk up as he goes down so easily.
By the way. Martinez save from Harrison is the save of the season. Harrison did nothing wrong. Great ball from Ayling too.
Thought we have played well since the goal. Villa two forced changes means they’re limited to what changes they can make. Moreno looks a bit of a liability, we need to attack the right more everything is going down the left. Adams has cleaned up nicely in the middle often under pressure for a quick pass on many an occasion. Gnonto has made his point to the ref, he now needs to stop staring at him and when he’s fouled just look frustrated and shake his head like Grealish does I’m hoping Jesse doesn’t panic and make substitutions too soon. If he does Greenwood or an attacker for Roca don’t be tempted to go with Wober in the middle
Wanted to rip Marsch a new one inside 5 minutes for the usual defending balls up. But in fairness we have battered them Rodrigo unlucky should have had a penalty, a lucky Moreno goal line save from Rodrigo, Harrison hurting them an unlucky not to score, Gnonto hurting them and getting doubled up on. Aaronson should have scored but still not on his game, Adams working hard, but Marsch now needs to take Struijk off and maybe play Firpo or Wober and Cooper is close to going off… great performance in the last 30 mins
Roca has been okay, I wouldn’t say very good but he’s been steady. If it’s still 1-0 after 70 minutes then we’re going to have to try something different, hence sacrifice Roca if not Aaronson for Perkins and see if he can make it 2 in two
Agree. The first more than the second for me. Stopped the run after the free kick was taken. Unfortunately VAR doesn’t have a Leeds setting.
For those who want an example how to defend when outnumbered. Watch how the Villa players positioned themselves after the Mings slip let us in. That is just good defenders doing their job by making right decisions. Great example of what they did right and what we consistently do wrong. It's called reading the game. Our defenders can't read the game and lack the pace to recover.
