It's has a decent capacity, it's a proper old school football stadium, but fantastic? Think that's pushing it a bit.

That's my definition of a fantastic stadium, Hillsborough the same ..... for me. You can stuff your soulless Emirates, Etihad etc etc where the sun don't shine.

Villa Park is a bit mock Tudor these days.

Two side stands have been rebuilt, the Main Stand is a lookee like for the old one which was proper.

The Holte has two tiers, not like the original all standing one.

I first went in 1999 and even then it had been been given a retro revamp.

The height of the stands, and closeness to the pitch is what gives these charismatic grounds their 'feel'.,

Haven't had time to read the whole thread but has anyone else commented that they felt we were hard done by the goal coming from a free kick that shouldn't have been a free kick? Plus their second goal Jammy Abraham shoots, the shot is blocked and would you believe it the ball could have gone anywhere but no it falls perfectly for him right for an easy goal?
They were lucky in that respect.

I said to a pal that the ball was falling for them most of the game. I know they picked their game up second half and we were second best for large parts but I felt we were hard done by.
