Job done today, which lifts AVFC to 9th and crucially, we are just 3 points off the play-off places.

This was our first double of the Season. There are 7 more possible for AVFC but 6 more against us too.

The stream was duff so I have had to rely on my Twitter feed and SSN for updates. It looks like two points dropped in a close match, going by those sources. Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 4-4 & 8-10 = 12-14 to AVFC.

30/12/2018 : AVFC have 37 points with GD at +9 from 25 games and are 5 points off the play-off places.
Although we only had one defeat (and that was gifted) in the current 10 games, DS' statement about draws being a killer is proven true by the difference between where we are and where we could have been with those dropped points (8 in all so far).

Another draw (despite us having 22 attempts to QPR's 11), meaning another 2 points dropped and AVFC slip one place to 10th in the table. Fortunately the combination of results today sees us still 5 points off the play-off places, so although things should be better, they are not worse.

Slightly misleading stat. Thought we were well worth a point.

The draw today meant AVFC avoided ceding the double to QPR. Just 5 more to avoid now !

The better team won today and deservedly so. AVFC never got into this match and were second best all over the pitch.

EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 12/01/2019 : Wigan Athletic v Aston Villa, KO 15:00 hours.

07/01/2019 : Wigan have only scored 25 goals over their 26 matches so maybe, just maybe, AVFC could win on Saturday with a clean sheet. It is about time we got back to winning ways and started hitting the back of the net consistently. We need players other than Tammy Abraham (who may be gone anyway) to find the target, we cannot afford to be a one-man show.
