    I do not know if that will be the case, but :

    After the result today AVFC's total Form Points has fallen to 15 ... that is, points after 38 games.

    Going through this thread I have been really surprised about the amount of times you have gone down by a single goal or drawn matches you probably should have won.

    Do you think Lerner will sanction any spending this month? It could be wasted money and he doesn't strike me as the type to risk that.

    It could go either way Riever.
    Lerner sanctioned the panic buy of Darren Bent after MON had left, but overall he has forced his managers to buy on the cheap, hoping this minumum investment will be just enough to enable AVFC to retain EPL status. This season he faces losing EPL status for AVFC next season and the extra TV money that will come with it. Opinions vary, but as his only interest is money many have said that he will not spend, accept relegation, then pocket the parachute payment. That would not surprise me if it did happen, but who knows the mind of this want away miser ?

    Next week it is a break for AVFC from the daily grind of the EPL, but this match is the proverbial banana skin !

    I posted a Cricfree link for the last match (Sunderland 3-1 Aston Villa), but was dubious about doing this as it opened with a redirect to a download video site. That download site would have made it my home page if I had done the download ...

    I did not proceed with the download.

    Henceforth I will only post streams from Feed2All, so it is goodbye to Cricfree.

    Just one word to describe that : scrappy ... and ...

    ... could someone tell me what team was Level 1 and what was Level 4 ?

    The only positives were :

    1} The central defence was as it should be, Clark & Okore and ...
    2} Bunn is goal ... that must become permanent !

    Wycombe out played Villa in the second half, first half probably even but what I did not realise that was your first team. At least Liverpool had 11 excuses

    What is most frustrating about AVFC, apart from giving the ball away, is the continual sideways and backward passing. It is all very well having possession, but that is only the means to the end, which is scoring goals and winning games. The dual striker tactic of Kozak and Gestede is promising, provided they are fed the ball !
    Well played to Mark Bunn, reliable in goal and especially for saving the unjust penalty given against us ... which injustice was compounded by the penalty not given for us when Huth manhandled Kozak.
    The gap to 17th is now 9 points.

    FA Cup 3rd Round replay, Tuesday 19/01/2016 : Aston Villa 2-0 Wycombe Wanderers

    That was a laboured performance, by the sound of it, but both our goals were well taken.

    Attendance : 20,706 (SSN)

    There were no streams for this match, so I listened to the commentary on Radio 5 Live, which showed the goals from all the Cup games via the Red Button.
