12.30pm Friday and not a stitch on here? Who is running this show? Too much social media posts and not enough football. Can we buy on the gate? Anyone actually going? Can we get something going on here?

Probably a bit more interest if we were doing well, or on a good run. Or something.

ASTON VILLA SITE:

Game details

Game: Aston Villa v Hull City
Date: Saturday 19th January 2019
Competition: Sky Bet Championship
Venue: Villa Park
Kick-off: 3pm

At a glance

Aston Villa return home for the first of back-to-back Sky Bet Championship matches at Villa Park this weekend, with Hull City the visitors to B6.

The Tigers, who we beat 3-1 on the opening day of the season, are currently on the best winning streak in the division – having triumphed six times in a row.

Despite defeat at Wigan last weekend the gap to the top six remains at just five points, with the luxury of three home matches coming up in as many weeks.

Team news
Jonathan Kodjia is back and fit to face Hull City on Saturday.

The Ivorian missed last weekend's trip to Wigan Athletic because of a knock, but is in line to feature this time around.

He is the only confirmed injury comeback, with Mile Jedinak having just an outside chance of making the matchday squad.

Henri Lansbury, Jack Grealish and Axel Tuanzebe remain absent.

Kortney Hause is likely to make the 18 for the first time at Villa Park.

Ways to watch
Video coverage of our clash with Hull City this weekend will be available to all AVTV Live international subscribers.

As the game isn't being screened by any UK or external broadcasters, video coverage of the match can be shown internationally.

The Boss
Dean Smith
"Nigel Adkins has done very well after a tough start to the season. He's got them playing in a manner that he wants – they're dangerous.

"They've got players who can create and score, as well as a solid base behind that.

"We know it's going to be tough – they've won 3-0 and 6-0 of late. They're the in-form team.

"But we always have the belief in the quality of our squad. Combined with the hurt we suffered last week, I'm hoping we can do what's required to win the game."

I think they have a decent team on paper , first game in a while I'm not overly confident despite our run , surely can't win again can we? Ok, 2-1 Bowen and Grosicki... i am going , but my Mrs is out tonight , I'm on duty and my little one has developed a 3am wide awake party habit , so I was actually hopeful the title was true so I could sleep tomorrow afternoon

It's a good idea to have discussion through the week before matchday like other forums.

Some Aston Villa fans seem to be hanging onto the fact that we haven't beaten them there since the late 60s.

Our head to head record isn't great.

P34 W6 D9 L19

Only one win at Villa Park. November 18th 1967. Won 2-3.
We have beaten Aston Villa at Villa Park the same number of times - once - as we have beaten Everton at the same venue.

Difficult one this when you look at their forward line it looks very good so our defence is going to have to be strong, let's hope we can keep them out and catch them on the break. It would be fantastic to keep the run going but I would be very happy with a point.

You know you can start a topic about it if nobody else does

Assuming he is selected, tomorrow will be Fraizer Campbell’s 100th appearance for City.
