Looks like last bit of hope has gone Rotherham 1-0 up at Leeds meaning we are effectively 11 points behind!!
There is plenty of time for Leeds to come back, but still clutching at straws. I am pinning my hopes on none of the other three going on a run but it's hard to see where Town are going to get any points off the top 18 sides to be able to close the gap.
As I say, I am quietly stoicly resigned mentally now, so am pleased we are giving it a go at times. On top at times, and just need ONE F......KING goal!
The best thing we could do is forget about the table. Stage one just go out there and try to get some clean sheets. If we do let a goal in first half reinforce at half time to do our best to keep a clean sheet second half. Stage two create openings. Stage three score some goals. We just have no direction and no purpose and no structure to our games.
Next up Sheffield Wednesday. Next away match Norwich City. Perhaps we can score a goal on the road for the first time in eight attempts at Carrow Road?
Another game closer to league one. We didn't do too badly after the first ten minutes but we were already a goal down by the time we settled. Downes played well, Quaner made an impact, Bart was shaky and his kicking is as bad as Gerken's. There are signs that we are improving but it won't be fast enough to avoid the drop.
Well played boys, poor ref again, but that's what happens to bottom clubs. Some positives to take and sounded spirited, but still no points. Rotherham lost too thank goodness. Every game gives the new players time to say hello and who are you, where do you play in all this!
Agreed gaffer, another clueless bloody ref who made some really strange decisions and was not consistent with his calls.
is pretty much what we have been saying since the first match in August. How, how, how? I think it only looks that way because we are better at moving the ball around. Villa are not a 'good' team by any stretch.
Okay been out working, I can only really go by the SW supporters - mind you, a good %%% of them are so happy clappy in the nicest way possible they won't be subjective ever. But what seems to have been coming out = * Soft penalty * Battled hard * Maybe warranted a point / W T F was Bart doing for the girl? My end, I'm embarrassed to say - I bet Villa to win the game, and also bet Villa 2-0. I cashed out before 2-1 - logged onto Betfair and it was in Russian, absolute nightmare to find how to change language. So ' Mr Public Speaking HR man ' Lambert is now 9/39, 0.69 P P Game ( lower than Hurst's 0.75 ) + a lower league cup exit. Absolutely pathetic. ANOTHER loss on the road under Lambert - getting to the point we may aswell not play the fixture and accept a 3-0 loss for the good playing the damn games under him are doing for us. Record = D L L L L L L L. We FINALLY scored a goal, our first in around 670 minutes on the road. I get what Lambert's doing / he's inherited a shower with morale rock bottom etc but I'm not sold on him so far. Not one jot. MUST do better.
