A mate of Roger Johnson. Kenny Jackett didn't rate Henry - transfer listed him as soon as he took over at Wolves, even though Hentry still had 3 years on his contract.
The cricketer? An unusual choice. Not a mate of Roger Johnson though as far as I know, and Kenny Jackett has never transfer listed him.
Speculation is now that Wes Hoolahan could be joining Charlton... Here is my reply to that speculation, posted on another forum; Wes Hoolahan was Norwich City's POTY two seasons ago, and left the Club at the end of last season having spent 10 years there. The big question will be has he still got anything left in the tank at 36 years of age? And having bowed out from Norwich City as a latter day legend there (guard of honour and the captain's armband for his last appearance) does Hoolahan still have the ambition to achieve something with Charlton? Hoolahan was not in the Norwich Championship match day squad 9 times last season, including a 5 game run in January/February, presumably due to an injury. He was a substitute 8 times as well, so he started 29 of their 46 league matches in the 2017-18 season. It is unlikely we will get more than one full season out of him, so what kind of contract has he been offered? Would he sign for us on a one year deal or did he want more? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If Wes Hoolahan is joining Charlton, we are getting a good quality Championship player who has also played in the Premier League, but who is obviously nearing the end of his career. Despite the huge experience Hoolahan would bring with him, can Lee Bowyer really sell Wes Hoolahan to Charlton fans as one of those four better quality players he wants to make our lean squad stronger than last season?
Hoolahan is a good player IMO, but long term Charlton fan & good judge @DickPlumb says we are getting a defensive holding midfielder?
Bowyer has come out in press conferences and said they need a big aggressive midfielder.Wes Hoolihan is small and a playmaker. Perhaps we are getting two midfielders.
I've always liked Hoolihan. He's never had any pace, so he can't lose it, and let's hope Bowyer has a big aggressive bastard in mind.
Who thinks Alou Diarra could do a job for us? Getting on but a class player and is also a decent centre half.
