All you do is sit on the sidelines and join in any squabble going. This time you jumped in with both feet and sunk. Try harder next time because you're making a fool of yourself.

You should have picked up the other poster for the condescending remarks, but you didn't - so it is you can get down on your bended knee and apologise to me. I know you want to.

Burnley have drawn with Man City and Chelsea away, drawn with Spurs and Man Utd at home and have beaten Southampton at home. They're fighting for their Premiership lives so you may not see much pretty football at Turf Moor on Saturday <ok>

As long as we get points from the game, that's the main objective <ok>

I actually want to see us roll up our sleeves away from home for a change and make a game of it. I hope we don't roll over as we have done in many of our recent away games, that would leave the hard work against Man Utd not meaning much. A point up there and a battling performance would be a good effort. I just hope GM has the ability to lift his players for the so called smaller games.

The "only" way that we will get to "enjoy" (<yikes>) seeing games & savouring victories over the so-called Big Teams is to continue being in the PL season after season.

That means getting points on the board "first and foremost".

Yes - we all want to see the style of football that got us to the PL, and in an ideal world we could combine pretty football and accumulate 40+pts year in year out.

However, there are (& will be) times that, when push comes to shove, the pragmatist in me wants to prioritise the points on the board to ensure we stay in the PL.

We have experienced enough lows over the past 30 years to want to hang onto these highs for as long as possible.<cheers>

Monk has been a breath of fresh air and a revelation the way he has took to management. I love the way he does his homework and look at the players he has at his disposal and try's out different styles of play. From what fans were expecting before the season started to what he has achieved to date then i would say !"The lads done good"....

Agree that he's been outstanding in terms of points gained, developing different formations/styles of play, signing players of a high calibre. He's also endured a difficult 3-4 weeks but it looks like he's learned from that period and is getting everything back on track.

That said, I too, like others wouldn't mind seeing us play a more attacking style against lower sides in the league. Hopefully we will get the 40 points Saturday and then we can play a more attacking approach in certain games.

I don't understand some the nasty comments here at all. I'm sorry Mr White if you think I've been condescending in any way, that's just the way I speak. Nothing meant by it. Mr Miggins tells me off all the time because I call everyone 'sweetie', but if you take offence then I'll do my best to avoid it in future. <hug>

But arguing over the team is weird because for me it's a question of perspective and your own individual character. Some people see where we are in the League as evidence that everything is fine whilst others think we could and should have done a lot better - mainly a criticism on consistency. Nobody is absolutely right or wrong it's just the way you as an individual see things. Glass half full or empty. Pointless being abusive towards someone because they take an opposite view imo.

My own is that Monk has done a great job most of the time but he, like the team he manages lack consistency. The evidence of that is an appalling performance at the Baggies followed by a great one on Saturday. Let's be honest we've picked up points but we've not been great to watch this season have we? For some that's fine and it doesn't matter. It's where we are that counts, and I understand that. For others, it's a shame we've not been so easy on the eye. Football always divides opinions, particularly when a club is close to your heart.

Looking at some of the nasty stuff here you'd never think we supported the same team.

There is no doubt that consistency is an issue as it was last season, but I put that down to the large numbers of players in and out, it has an effect on the continuity of the team. That said if you then throw in some absolutely diabolic refereeing on numerous games, plus a Rookie manager on his first maiden voyage, then surely we can expect this consistency issue, but when you look at the bigger picture Monk has steered the team through these troubled waters and we are still on course to our destination, yes very frustrating our boys are on times, but it's because of these reasons that I cut Monk and the team some slack that in my view they deserve, and don't forget we are a team in transition as well. .....................<ok>

He's adapted the team to be able to revert from one system to another depending on the opposition, it's still a learning process for him (Monk) so it's still work in progress. If you ask swans fans if they'd rather finish the season on 50 points playing some ugly football or 30 points playing sexy football, there's no doubt which they'd choose. He has to mix it up to compete, simple as that.

I did find being called Babe and Hon in the same post condescending, which is why I called you luv. Unfortunately the defender of the realm has stepped in to save you from my dastardly action. <laugh>

We have beaten Arsenal, beaten Man United twice, beaten Southampton at their ground.

I expect us to play pretty football ;)

I'ts evident now that the football we have been accustom to over these past few years has come to an end, Monk's style is more to do with who the opposition is and how to play against them using various styles, So not only us the fans cant guess who the players are and what type of football we gong to play the opposition wont have a clue either and i like that.

Monk and the team have done great. If it doesn't work out I'd like to see moyes. I bet he'll know a ton of new great value players really well. this experience will really make him grow as a manager. He will probably at some point miss the premier league a bit.
