There is no 1 style with us any more and at last we have a manager who has a plan A, B, and C and by our points total so far it is working a treat and what is more remarkable is it's only his first season. Monk is not afraid to try something new and it's paying off with the way he is learning what works and what dont but still picking up more points than any manager before him.....you have to be pleased with that...just think we could be like the capital city and what they have to watch...
we have a manager who is clueless in substitutions and team selections and transfers, I was prepared to give him the BOTD but na, sack him
We've secured 34pts, We're 9th, We have a rejuvenated changing room, signed decent players, Siggy, Montero, Fernandez, Fabianski, Cork and Naughton, rubbish signings one and all. Ki Sung-yueng has reinvent himself because Monk re-signed him and told him he has an important place here. This gave him confidence through Monk showing him loyalty and respect (thems Ki's words not mine so blame the player not me) Monk's helping us to plan for and secure a future by signing and or developing young players like Amat, Bartley, Barrow, Fulton, Grimes, Gorre. I can go on but my true take on it all is this. Monk was never appointed just as manager of our club but was appointed as its custodian. Why? because our club was on the brink after Laudrup and our board knew it. They knew we could not survive another future quakes after this one. The seismic effects of managers constantly leaving was ripping us to shreds. Garry Monks appointment had given our club the ability to plan ahead and be pro-active about our future. Pre Monk we were nothing but reactive, and always fighting adversity. So, it doesn't matter whether you don't like Monk or not or that he lacks charisma or whatever floats your boat' even though has record has been exemplary for a new manager under the pressure he must have been under. The only thing that matters is that Monk IS and as a direct consequence of this our club can plan s future which may include us buying the Liberty or expanding its capacity or both. These things were not possible pre Monk but now we can settle, look ahead and go where we want. Thanks Garry Monk, the custodian of my club
If monk is clueless then you could not have thought much about our last 4 managers as he is doing better than any of them .. you dont half speak rubbish the other side of the world musty and the only one who is clueless is your good self...
After 24 games Laudrup had us in 8th, same points +7 goals difference. So Laudrup was better (after 24 games)
I responded, factually, about Monk being our most successful manger in the PL - at this stage he isn't - hopefully that will change tomorrow night.
Have we won a cup yet this season? Had 11 first team players injured at the same time? Does the club captain start fights and main behind his back? Are we playing exciting football?
What about the form after the cup win Bob or the form before the injuries at the end of November. You make out that we were only crap around the Xmas period. Our problems started many many months before.
Many months before? Was that when we were darlings of Europe, when Leon, Ash, Michu and Dyer were regularly used to promote Eurosport and their faces were plastered all over Spain, Italy, France and Holland? We must heave been rubbish to reach the knock out stages of the Europa Cup. Our problems started when the injury list went stratospheric, we didn't bolster the squad in the January transfer window and the club captain threw his toys out of the proverbial.
