FACTS 1. Allam said that the CTWD supporters were hooligans, they could die and he wanted them to leave the Club 2. These comments have been universally vilified by the press, pundits, other club owners and fan groups alike 3. the Allam apologists have said he didn't mean what he said and that after 45 years he still cant speak English properly 4. Allam is fully aware of the furore he has caused and has refused to correct any misunderstanding or apologise for any confusion 5. Allam has lied to the fans about the name change and the timescales / process involved 6. The protests about the name change have gathered a pace and have definitely upped the atmosphere in the KC 7. The CTWD group are not the fans policemen, they are simply a group of supporters that are opposed to the name change 8. Anyone in the stadium can support the team exactly how they wish, the can sing or the can sit down and say nothing or anywhere in between 9 if half a dozen or so fans sang AA will die before us - then why don't the AA apologists claim they were misunderstood or they couldn't speak English properly - I bet they hadn't lived here for 45 years and had 45 years practicing English like AA has 10 the Allam apologists also want the singers to support the team and not protest about the name change - why don't the AA apologists sing their own songs and drown out the 200 then - its because the AA apologists are a bunch of spineless ****e who are happy for AA to do whatever he likes - unfortunately their KC experience is ruined for them without an atmosphere, an atmosphere that is created by the fans who are prepared to stand up and sing - if you don't like what the fans sing then sing your own songs, if no-one joins in with you then don't come, Im sure no-one will miss you
How much rent have the Council collected from the KC since it was built? How much rent did they paying the SMC until Assem Allam spat his dummy out?
Why do I get the feeling that even if the FA decides to allow the name change every thread will descend into the usual name change thread. As if the FA do allow it there is no change that the club will revert back to it's orginal name - like there is no chance that MK Dons will go back to Wimbledon, until there is a change of owner at both clubs (us and MK Dons). And if the crowds are still roughly the same and we are still in the PL why would a new owner (unless he is a member of CWTD) change the club name back
This assumes that the anti-name change posters on here will continue to support Hull Tigers FC and post on here. How many AFC Wimbledon supporters post on the MK Dons boards? It takes for granted that Assem Allam has the money to keep us in the Premier League. It assumes that his family will continue to put money into the club rather than take it out before selling the club. If we buy any players in January we will be £100 million in debt to Assem and his family. What new owner is going to pay that off before putting money into strengthening the squad?
This was an instance of a new club being formed, away from its 2 original sites however, not what is happening to us at all, but yes, MK Dons is part of the History of both MK and Wimbledon. History is a record of things that have happened to something in the past. You might not like all those things but they happened. I'm honestly amazed you do not understand what History actually is given the way you're using it as a club to batter people into submission. Or are you an advocate of re-writing history to suit your own ends? Any updates btw on membership numbers of your campaign? Actually, what I'd like to see is at least a blog post dedicated to condemning these types of chants and a reiteration of the stance that CTWD are completely against these types of chants, that they don't want Dr Allam out, that they want to work with him etc. At best it would be a press release, although a blog post would at least make it official from them. They were happy enough to rush something out in support of Cardiff, surely this wouldn't be much effort, if that's their stance of course. "It's nothing to do with us" applies equally to Cardiff's situation, before that's rolled out again, and a by line on the site some place doesn't do it either. At least this IS something to do with our club and our "fans".
Why do you complain about every thread descending into a name-change thread and then make your own, rather confusing comments, followed by a question that is doing nothing more than adding to your own complaints cause? Not having a go, just curious as so many others do it too. There seems to be a self-righteousness sense of purpose replacing name-change argument and that is arguments against name-change comments; only those posting do not see their own posts as being about name-change, when, in fact, they are.
As I said on another thread I think the name change issue has actually brought the fans together more than divided them. From E7 I could clearly hear the South Stand start off the chanting and at the other side of me the East stand faithful. I think more and more people are joining in with the chanting of City till I Die and the rest. Saturday was a fantastic day and it was wonderful to hear various players being sung about and the usual Steve Bruce song. The atmosphere was as amazing as the performance on the pitch. It is just very said that Mr Allam is not happy with things as they are. What could have got us more global exposure then that performance, why the name change. It is just so unnecessary. Hull will be City of Culture, we are coming together in this City to make things happen and improve the place and attract visitors and investors from around the world. Why oh why can't Mr Allam just back down and take us forward as Hull City AFC. Surely he was as proud as the rest of us on Saturday, why set himself up to be someone people make fun of and dislike when he should actually be enjoying with us the season of our lives. We should be applauding the team, the manager and the owners but he just keeps pushing the fans further away.
The Cardiff situation has something to do with CTWD because we have had support from the Cardiff City campaigners since before we were formed. My personal view is that the change of name has increased tensions on both sides of the debate. It happens emotions are high. We support the same team, at least till the end of the season and I feel a little tolerance is called for. I don't use Assem Allam's quote that I can die when I want because I thought it funny. What I didn't find funny was him telling those supporters who oppose the name change and saved this club from liquidation long before he thought about buying us that they don't count and can leave his club to those who enjoy good football. He's been lucky the first half of the quote saved him from the full implications of the second part.
So Obi - if the name changes do I assume from your post that you will no longer support the team (same ground, same staff, same everything apart from the name) and therefore not post on here next season if we are the Hull Tigers. As for the debt thing - is that not the case with the vast majority of clubs and everyone finds a new owner which somehow manages to manage the debt and invest in new players/stadia/improvements to training grounds/severance pay for managers
These Cardiff campaigners keep a very low profile; perhaps they are turning a blind-eye to his antics in the hope he will treat them with a little respect and listen to their concerns; as do CTWD with Allem? I've got news for them - time for Plan B!
Am I wrong ? I thought the CTWD group want a place on the board with the Allams giving them the club in time. Or is it just about the name change .
We aint. Invoking MK Dons is a tactic designed to scare people into supporting CTWD. We're involved in a totally different scenario, but the history thing keeps being thrown around with little or no understanding of what it is. Kinda pathetic really.
Fan ownership is a separate issue. CTWD and the Allams have both said that's something they want to happen to some degree in the future.
Its a possibility. The only thing that links us to Raich Carter and beyond is the name of the team. Not the limited company that owns it. Once that thread is cut it is no longer the same team. That feeling has nothing to do with anyone on this board, its mine and mine alone. The debt thing depends on who the money is owed to. If the money is secured on the freehold of a ground then the debt cannot be avoided. If the debt is owed to the owner then it depends on how keen the owner is to sell. Would you pay £100 million for Hull City? Assem Allam was told by Adam Pearson he was mad for taking on debts of £30 million, so how many people out there would take on debts of £100 million? Everything depends on how Assem Allam has financed his loans to the club. If it comes from savings and income from Assem Marine fine he's just done what Sheik Mansour has done. If he's borrowed it against the assets of Allam Marine then he needs the profits of Allam Marine to pay the loan capital and interest. Tomorrow is Allam Marine's year end so the accounts will make interesting reading when published.
I will answer each point as you put it. 1. Yawn. 2. Yawn. 3. Yawn. 4. Yawn. 5. Yawn. 6. Yawn. 7. Yawn. 8. Yawn. 9. Yawn. 10. Yawn - get a life! He is renaming something, he isn't killing your family for ****s sake - by the emotive reaction of some of you infantile ****s, you would think he was about to run over your dog.
