Alberto hasn't played much at all, and Aspas has been played out of position a few times (from what I've ready anyway) Would rather judge them at the end of the season or in January maybe, not 5 games into the new season
Alberto scored a hat trick the other day in the U21's. So I don't think any criticism can be leveled at the lad yet.
I prefer Alberto to Aspas - although completely different players. To be honest I don't rate Aspas one bit, and can't see him improving much, he just does't have what it takes in a physical league like the PL. I'd loan him out next season to a PL team like Sunderland or West Ham - that's of course if we have enough players to do so. If he gets a good season under his belt keep him for the squad, if not back on the plane to spain
Aspas is a good, technical and feisty little player but I think he's not strong enough yet and needs to bulk up a bit (like Aguero did, he's jacked now!) to compete more physically which would match his aggressive playstyle. Some of the touches and flicks he's done so far have been great, albeit just a lack of a player on the end. Hopefully Suarez will be more on his wavelength. He was never going to be the next superstar of the team, but he'll turn out to be a nice squad player - somewhere between Bellamy and Kuyt - if he gets time. Of course, being played in his best position would help. He's not a number 10.
I think that's a fair assessment. He certainly needs to bulk up so that he can become that aggressive font player that we need. From what I've seen I think he can play a role similar to St.John - now there's a reference that some will not even know about!
We seem to have an uncanny knack of picking these types of players. They promise much and deliver little. Maybe the scouting team watch too much You Tube! Actually it's been a common theme for us for some time now. But it is very early in his time with us and I will think Borini should be given more of a chance.
Aspas played well in his first game against Stoke but seems to have not managed to push on from that, albeit a few sub appearances haven't helped. Think it's much too early to write him off but think he needs a run of games like Borini needed for us.
Look on the positive side. He cost one quarter of what Carroll did. Less than a third of Downing. Er , jless than Sturridge too.... Oh **** it. Let's be honest, we bought a third hand Fiat Punto with the cyllinder head gaskett going when we had our eyes on a showroom Jag . We now shop at Quicks for our motors and notat Mercedes
Why the **** buy a car from a Merceded dealer. You'll pay through the nose for show of glitter which soon wears off. I'll give Aspas some time to develop. If he doesn't make it then that's the chance you take. But if he does just think of the warm glow when you consider just how little he cost!
He was very good pre season but has failed to carry that into the league. Its early days. Really hope he's not another Borini.
I am really struggling to believe how people are slatting 1 player that played maybe 180 minutes and another player thats played maybe 45 minutes for the club in the league. Aspas has played in the no 10 position when he isn't a number 10, alberto just hasn't played. People on this board were moaning about over paying for players and not uncovering hidden gems, maybe just maybe alberto or aspas are that hidden gem but considering you would like to **** them off after 5 games its going to be hard to find out.
