He's off for dinner now - but is back to answer a few more after.

Chicken, rice and peas. Love that. It doesn't matter how much money you earn, it's all about the simple things.

Clyne is faster than both Shaw and Puncheon (or at least he thinks he is). Interesting.

Think he's definitely got Puncheon beat, a race between him and Shaw would be interesting. Clyne would probably be quicker over a short distance but Shaw, a bit like Bale (forgive me for saying their names in the same sentence), is quick but not that rapid starting off but once he gets going he's like a runaway train. Clyne doesn't tend to run with the ball that much, whenever he picks the ball up deep he seems to more often than not just knock the ball back to Cork, which is a shame as I think he has the ability to be much more dangerous with the ball at his feet, don't know whether it's a confidence thing or something he's instructed to do.

Q: What made you decide you wanted to be a defender?
A: I just didn't want the opposition to have the ball so I always love to take it off them.

Q: What is your ultimate goal as a footballer?
A: Winning trophies and medals.

Q: If you didn't become a professional footballer - what did you want to be?
A: A race car driver, because I love cars.

And yes I am trying to correct all the terrible spelling and grammar. I'm a pedant. Not sure whether to leave it as it is or correct it!

Q: Who has influenced you to play football the most?
A: I'm gonna say my big brother. I'm living his dream aswell as mine.

Q: Messi or Ronaldo?
A: Messi.

Q: Who do you look up to as a football player?
A: Phillip Lahm, best all-round full-back in my opinion.

Q: What team did you support growing up as a kid?
A: Chelsea. Local club to where I was brought up in south-west London.

Q: Best player you played with at Palace?
A: Have to be a toss up between Victor Moses and Wilfried Zaha.

Q: What do you hope to achieve at Southampton?
A: European football #COYR.
