Not sure if we'll make it to the July Festival - it can get pretty crowded, and hot, up there. She will be making her racecourse debut at the July Course at some stage over the summer though.

A quick post to comment on the impressive record of KIND so far following her daughter JOYEUSE's second black-type win yesterday at Haydock.

For such a young broodmare with just 5 offspring of racing age she is carving herself out a crucial spot in the Juddmonte broodmare band. Each of her 5 runners are winners and 4 are black-type performers, and her son NOBLE MISSION bids to improve the family record and become his dam's second G1 winner later today. MORPHEUS has been switched to the USA and the hope is he will improve for the move.

KIND does not have a 2yo this year, but there is a yearling full brother to FRANKEL to look forward to next year, and she was due to GALILEO again this year.

The family are on fire! RIPOSTE (KIND's half-sister) won the G2 Sheapshead Bay Stakes at Belmont on Saturday night.

There's another runner for the family shortly too: KIND's half-sister COLOURFUL (a full-sister in blood to RIPOSTE) has her second run at Lingfield tomorrow. 4th on her debut a few weeks ago it's hoped she will improve for her first run.

The first foal by Frankel to go under the hammer will be offered for sale at Japan's July Select Sale. The filly is out of Goodwood March, making her a half-sister to Hong Kong G1 winner GOLD FUN. Conformation pictures of all lots will be available from 13th June.

The sales from now on are going to be very interesting. Surely a record will be broken this year?

You'd think so. Most of the Frankel foals are with owner/breeder types so the really high value ones will never see the open market. I imagine one or two breeders will look to cash in and free up some capital though.

Where is that running JP?
Just been looking at some photos from Saint Andrews. Looks a nice place. What's it like there?

Is that to see Princess Elizabeth Alice Wooly? We all missed out last year <laugh>

Sadly no trip this year as I'm out of contact with the studs until I go back to work next March. If you are registered with the Juddmonte a Frankel website they are offering tours of the stud plus badges to go racing in September.

I see Duke of Marmalade has gone East, well to South Africa which is a little bit east. Didn't seem to make much of an impression.

They don't give them long to make an impact unfortunately Bustino.

COLOURFUL had a nice run today finishing second in a 3-way photo having made all. She still looked green to me so will hopefully pick up a few races in the not too distant future.
