To be honest, I don't know much about any of the DOFs, so no clue about who is actually any good and who isn't. Ashworth came with a good reputation, so seemed like a good addition at the time. Shows what I know.
Everyone thought he'd be good, so it's not really a "shows I'm clueless scenario" how can the average fan know anything about it tbh. We don't know how to run a football club
To be fair, Tash’s threads suggest he can knock up an essay……. Which is all Ashworth did to get his reputation
It means he's capable of filling the role and is being given considered for that promotion. Regardless I personally think there's too much made of dofs these days.
You said he wasn't being considered and I've shown you some evidence otherwise.. how about you show me some evidence he isn't rather than doing this endless wumming. Is this your application
No you haven’t. You’ve shown a Chronicle article that suggests. I also asked for evidence of his alleged capabilities. **** or wum?
No you dismissed the evidence and then started asking other questions. It would have been better just accepting the evidence and then asking other questions about his suitability.
Chron once said he was in the frame. Subsequent rejection by Freedman and strong rumours of the new guy suggest the contrary. Sporting Director is a very wide ranging role that defines the DNA of the club from youth to senior. They have input into many different facets and Nickson has been a chief scout and nothing more. I don’t know it does much for our reputation to do a quiet internal promotion when there’s still so much to fix; our loan system is still terrible, facilities not great, youth teams aren’t pulling up trees, etc.
Yeah I'm not claiming he's going to get the job just that he's being considered. It's also worth pointing out that promotions tend to offer people jobs they have no experience in, but enough experience and worth in other areas for employers to think makes them a good candidate. These guys aren't born dofs... they got the chance and did well.
Just like when EE promoted you from photocopy boy to customer call handler when they saw you had great 'people skills'?
They could go with 2 people. saying as Ashworth spunked £120m on 3 players that managed about 15 games between them
Why stop there? We could get Roly in as a motivational speaker, Tash to do team tactics and trev to drive the team bus……. Making us undefeated away from home next year
