So assuming the news today is 100% truth and now we can concentrate having our new stadium at Ashton Vale, let's reminisce.

What are your best moments at Ashton Gate and will you miss it ?

The play-off semi final against Palace. When Watson missed his penalty and the whole ground erupted into chants of 'We Always Believe.' Then Trundle and McIndoe both scored great goals to win it.. Wish we still had Trundle.. The completely unnecessary yet entertaining tricks were awesome!

Going nuts in the East End when we beat Liverpool 2-0... that is hard to beat. Oh, maybe when we beat Man Utd 1-0 and trying not to get myself lynched outside the ground by those jolly friendly chaps from up north...losing my glasses when Christian Roberts scored during all those minutes of stoppage time...watching the last game of the season on the open terrace before the Atyeo was built...listening to the banter in the Williams when I was a kid in the 60s...thinking it would be great to live in the flats before the Dolman was built and watching the games for nothing...aah...so many memories. I will miss it like hell.

Alan Walsh skinning right backs, the 1989-90 promotional season (and Bob Taylors partnership with Robbie Turner), oh and the time Maynard used to enjoy scoring for us!

I will miss Ashton Gate, but I also miss a pair of my holey grey boxers - eventually something bigger, better and shinier is needed!

my 1st visit to the gate, it was either your friendly with man utd which ended 3-3 or the cup game 2nd leg against us gas. you won 1st leg at twerton 3-1 and we won at the gate 2-4 and went through on away goals. i cant remember which game was 1st but both games stand out.
other games was the beadle show when we won 2-0 and the 3-2 defeat where we took a 20 second lead from marcus bignot. reason why i remember that game is because i went to that game with a few mates and 1 of them brought along their girlfriend and when we scored that early goal we were jumping up and down celebrating and she got confused which side her boyfriend was and ended up kissing me instead. my mate was well cheesed off. apparently it was my fault! she was very nice :)

Gerry Gow waltzing through Bremner to feed Keith Fear
The Dolman, my first ever sight of a real football crowd. The colours, the noise...
Gibbo flying across his goal v Spurs Cup Semi
Mann v Shilts, Whitehead running Liverpool ragged, Royle on a 'Boro rampage
Gert Meyer wondergoal with his first touch, Rodgers v Fashanu
I remember seeing Ashton Gate v Stoke, our first home game in the first division. Everything had a lick of paint, the place looked a picture. Shame about the game though..

And then there was
v Fulham. Our first game after the 8, with a team we didn't recognise. There was an air of Munich about the place.
Boom Boom scoring with an overhead kick v Stoke - 6 games to go and 2 points clear
Maynard on a mission to win goal of the season v 'Boro

Anyway, I'm rambling on.....

So many

Coming from 2-0 down at half time to beat Luton 3-2 in the early 70's
League cup semi's against Spurs and Forest
Beating Liverpool 2-1 when in the first division
Joe Royle, Peter Cormack, Ernie Hunt, Terry Cooper, Norman Hunter
Walshy scoring againsy Sheff U in the play-off semi which we won 1-0 in the first leg and drew 1-1 at Bramall Lane
The play-off semi against Hartlepool
Play off semi against Palace

I have loads since I started going in the 70's but the one that stands out was when Louie Donowa scored late in game to end the run the gas had over us in 91, the celebrations just went on for ever!

Remember this well - cracking atmosphere - don't think its been that passionate at the Gate for a long time!

mine has to be the palace 2nd leg, but another was our first season in the championship against Norwich it was 1-1 and everyone wanted to go except me, and they were all pissed off because they thought it was heading for a draw, and when broker scored everyone went mental and i never felt so smug

Remember his 2 goals against Scunthorpe, they were awesome, then the whole ground stood up and chanted his name when they were going off for half time.

My very first game was v Charlton in the old second division, the year we got promoted. City one 4-0 and Ritchie scored at hatrick. 9 years old and hooked for life.

Garlands diving headers against Liverpool to keep us in First Division

Joe Royals volleyed goal also against Liverpool

Jimmy Mann stunning goal against Forest

Anglo Scottish cup win against St Mirren

Fulham 0 0 after the Ashton Eight left the club. Cried that day.

Beating Hereford to get through to Wembly the first time. Great moment to feel we were back.

Beating York 1-0 towards promotion from old fourth division

Louie Donawa goal against Rovers. Had to climb over turnstiles to get in Open End fifteen mins into game after we were locked out

Bob Taylor so many great moments

Scott Murray picking up ball in own penalty area and going on a mazy run to score

Harlepool play off semi

Crystal Palace play off semi - Trundle will always be a hero after that goal

All good points and memories to cherish. God let's not do the low points it will go on for ever!

My favorite moment was when you were spitting at your manager and breaking your stand when we scored a late equalizer during his birthday bash :)

I've been to the southside on many occasions to see the Gas. One game I recall January '87 we got battered all over the pitch but you lot couldn't score and we got a breakaway goal agaist the run of play. Trying very hard to remember who the scorer was. I do remember the locals being rather upset <doh>
